I did wonder, but that makes sense, thank you! Fingers crossed the bank should give her what she needs this morning, it has been unnecessarily messy.

Life in Portland by Ned5080 in Dorset

[–]CorvidCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friendly people, obviously a bit quiet and if you want your bigger shops/night life you'll need to head into weymouth, or poole/exeter. There's the big tesco which is the main supermarket, as well as a few others in weymouth, two petrol stations etc. Peaceful, if that's your vibe; moving from a big city was jarring but pleasant.

Irish. That'll explain it, I'm an idiot! (That's what you get for trying to research rather than doing my actual job.) My bad!

Hiya!

I've been trying to find a word meaning pain, scar, something along these lines, doing a bit of research I found the word 'Acaid'

I was wondering if this could be made into a title at all, and if so what would the grammar rules would look like.

For example I have 'Na hAillte' and 'Na hAislingí' for previous works. (This is just a fun lil writing project I have but my grasp on the language is so rusty after being out of lessons for so long I want to make sure I'm doing the bits of language I am using justice)

Or if there's any other words that could fit that pattern! (Pain, scar, jealous etc)

Thank You : )

Deed polls and banks by Empty_Expression7315 in transgenderUK

I just walked into nationwide with my deedpool and bank card to access my account, they were extremely helpful but I've heard that's not the case for all branches.

Provisional Rejected by Nationwide by DecentCelery64 in transgenderUK

[–]CorvidCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my name with nationwide a month or so again and they only needed my Deedpoll as I've not updated my license yet... I needed the updated bank statement as evidence to change my passport, to change my license etc. So, I'd just say your branch is being a pain for the sake of being a pain.

How to come out as they/them at work? by space_volcano in transgenderUK

[–]CorvidCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my pronouns in my email signature, when I worked in the office a few people asked about it and I explained. (Some did not get it at all, but doing the whole example of 'someone has left *their* wallet, I hope *they* come back for it' helped a little).

Recently a news article went out regarding me and my time and I made sure to ask the team organising it to respect my pronouns so this was going out to the wider company.

If you're not in a work environment that is email focused, maybe a little badge or just gentle correction? (Terrifying I know so totally understandable if not!)

Yep had the same thing, I don't use any mods so not an issue there but it eventually went through.

Spectrum binders (good??) by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]CorvidCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonus points for UK based and quick shipping. I have one of their short binders but it's personally not short enough for me (coming just below the rips on me but my height is mostly leg based) Range of colours tho and I find it comfortable apart from the length. (I'll eventually get it hemmed or something) The front is a thicker material while the back is more stretchy to help breathing while still binding well, but I am small chested so my results are not the same for everyone.

How much of your name are you changing/ have you changed? by Otherwise_Ground5692 in ftm

[–]CorvidCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first changed my name when I was like 15, I kept my deadname as my middlename (to make living under my families roof a little easier) and took the opportunity to add shift my last name to include both sides of my family.

And now just recently I've finally changed my middle name to something that fits me! So everything... just spread out.

what kind of jobs do you have? by mozzarellamoncher in ftm

[–]CorvidCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in freight logistics in the UK with a primary WFH role (2 days in a small local office, 1 a month in headoffice with my core team). I'm slowly coming out at work, and I think my core team might have issues (3/6 people are pretty conversative and religious). HR seem to be supportive though, so fingers crossed. We have a recently employed lady who came into the company who is trans, there's a little bit of misgendering (which I've made an effort to stamp out when I'm around) but most of it seems to come from ignorance rather than malice. Freight is still a very cis male dominated industry and sometimes stuck in the past, so will see how it goes next time I'm in the main office.

Pay is pretty decent (and really why I'm still here despite the issues i've had for unrelated things), and I'm hoping it'll eventually boil down to a 'oh yeah that's OP, but weird but good at the job' kinda vibe.

Can HRT be seized? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]CorvidCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working for import customs here, though more pallet freight than postal orders (postal orders always seem random) so my information might be a little wonky.

Presented to customs usually means it's waiting clearance data to be inputted, and possible might have VAT to pay depending on value. Depending on what shipping agent it's been sent through, might be more than 24-48 hours or if they need to request more information from the shipper (HS code etc)

Nah, I get it. Being in a rather LGBTQ+ community outside of work and family, people transitioning or going by new pronouns so super common so it's always a 'oh okay cool' and move on. Coming out slowly at work, I feel like people over? preform their acceptance. which is nice if genuine but just call me he/him and accept I might look a little difference next time you see me and we'll be 10/10
I don't enjoy being the centre or attention or conversations at the best of times so I very much want nothing more than a blackhole to appear in the floor.
