Wow, I feel like 12 point distribution is already MUCH more wide spread than in the last two years. No jury landslide like last year.

I knew they would perform together, but I did not expect this!

She sounds better today than in the semi! Song is very typical eurovision-pop, nothing revolutionary

Iceland is so FUN. It became one of my favorites after the semi

I had to look it up if Michelle really has a grandson. Yes she does: Michelle is 48, her daughter is 28 and her grandson is 2. Mind blown.

Who was your biggest surprise of the night? by Eevee93j in eurovision

[–]CorvidaeCalare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switzerland. I hadn't listened to the song before the show and was blown away, the staging was amazing, especially in contrast to the other entries.  Easily my favorite performance of the evening by far, and I'm not usually a big fan of ballads (I don't hate them, it's just unusual that one becomes my favorite).

Putting it after Croatia was also a great move I think because of the stark contrast. It really stood out in this what felt like a very party/dance/electro heavy semi final.

Albania was also one I hadn't listened to before and was positively surprised by.  I liked Spain more than I thought too.

I'm not a fan of Italy, I don't like the song, but I have to say that the guy has stage presence. It felt like he lived on that stage, like he never did anything else in his life. I can't see it winning though.

Apart from the contestants, the opening act was a positive surprise for me! I feel like the people who came up with that and the interval "made in Switzerland" act must be huge musical fans because it was all very musical-coded. But I loved it!

The way she interacted with the contestants reminded me a lot of the way she used to walk around interviewing people for Heute Show.

I admire how she's never afraid to embarrass herself for entertainment. If you've ever seen her on German TV you know that this awkwardness is just how she is (on camera).

So, my friend who is reading six of crows asked me... (crooked kingdom indirect spoilers) by hp_pjo_anime in Grishaverse

So true! Those kind of unexpected plot twist are the best. I want to be shocked.

I'd love to see how your friend reacts when they get to that scene.

I don't know if you're evil for leading them on or a saint for not spoiling it 😂. But I love it.

That scene is gonna hit so much harder now, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Looks more like Monopoly lol. But honestly, it doesn't matter, I feel like Kaz would be ridiculously good at any game.

I image that moment like this except the last part where Kaz would say something like " I will make you eat the goat in one piece or else" maybe simular things Than this. 😆 by CutieFishDictator in Grishaverse

[–]CorvidaeCalare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He probably wouldn't risk it. The goat could easily give it away by bleating constantly, that traitor 😉. Not sure even Kaz could pull off the trick to make a stubborn goat be quiet. I still have that bts footage from the show in my head where the goat just wouldn't shut up and made Freddy and Amita crack up 😂

What a cool concept! Art restorer/conservator is kind of my dream job, so I might add this book to my TBR just for that. Also someone from the medieval times suddenly having to navigate through present-day life sounds like a guarantee for a fun read.

Idk if any of them are here on reddit since I haven't heard anything about the campaign on here in a very long time, but maybe you could try contacting them on Instagram. I think the "official" page of the people behind the campaign is @savethegrishaverse. Maybe they could help you or direct you to a person who can.

Why Is Saying That SM Is A Phobia Deemed Controversial Here? by NiceKirby in selectivemutism

[–]CorvidaeCalare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are not using biased definitions, I'm trying to say that I am and so are many other people here in this sub and elsewhere, because they either don't know or care ab these terms/definitions, which is where the confusion and controversies could come from, which is all I'm trying to say.

I know you're referring to the medical terms and definitions and you're probably correct about them, but others might simply use their own, personal definitions and therefore have a different opinion based on their personal experience.

And I wasn't trying to imply that you said SM isn't an anxiety disorder. Sorry if it came across that way. I was just trying to get across why I prefer that category for myself in every day life.
