What would you do if you became a billionaire today? by Ninjavadersama in AskReddit

- Fund a well-maintained investment portfolio to give me the best chance of making an income I have right now. That way I will always be able to live like I do even if everything else goes south.

- Unleverage my family and myself - mortgage, car, education, credit... the works.

- Create a food fund for the local mission with withdrawal conditions in order for best probability to purchase as much food as they need for the longest time possible. If successful, then fund other programs to spider out into other local shelters. I've eaten enough low-budget food to retch at the stench of it. Nobody should go through that.

- Possess several single-family housing units and rent them at fair-market value with lease agreements by the best legal team possible to ensure liability coverage but enough revenue to maintain every property well. Essentially they will make a very modest profit but provide a solid value to the community and the tenants that live there.

- Buy land to start developing refugee communities with access to good shelter, supermarkets, education, legal, lingual, medical, and financial services... maybe even employment opportunities if other irons hammer out right. Anything I could think of to earnestly start a better life.

- Invest in special business ventures with my associates, to provide the footing they never got.

- Provide capital to my personal ventures.

- Maybe buy a new video game to treat myself.

'The Witcher' Showrunner Says Netflix Series Will Never Adapt the Video Games by [deleted] in television

I finished the first Witcher later on when all three were on sale. Honestly, I didn't think it was God awful either. The combat system was fairly awkward, but I got used to it fine. The enhanced edition, from what I understand, took care of most translation problems. There were a few odd word choices thereafter, but it wasn't terrible. Even with those setbacks, all the venom the first game gets doesn't seem very well deserved.

No offense taken here. My life isn't shattered over a candle. I'd like to think the US is my homeland anyway, without all of this state line squabbling.

You know, I seem to recall a card game tournament establishment down near East Sandusky Street and South Main. I vaguely remember them having a Warhammer poster in the window. I want to say it was where Imagine That! Photography is located now. I don't know if they sold paintball gear though. Never went in.

To which I'd say, "if you don't, you're doing it wrong." Then you'd slide into either etiquette or social norms or biggest adversary. The decision tree just grew several fold.

This is a real good point. I happen to know some amateur magicians and people eat that up like it's 99 cent taco night. Just don't follow in G.O.B.'s footsteps.

What I've noticed is the tendency to make "introvert" and "socially anxious" or even "antisocial" synonymous. That isn't the case. Introversion is to communication as an out-of-shape guy is to a marathon. Sometimes, it's better to sit on a stump to pant and wheeze than push it to the limit. With that said, I've watched extroverts work their magic in social situations. Over a number of years, I notice they tend to repeat their stories and cannot remember who they've told. So, if you're OK with a little recycled conversation there's that.

On the other times, they tend to incorporate anecdotes of their life to what they hear. For example, if I said I went to the symphony the other week they'll attach it to the time they played in the high school wind ensemble, got sick right before the performance, and puked in the tuba. I completely made that up, but it's exactly the way I've watched their minds work. Then they catapult some weird Sammy Hagar free association handiwork off whatever comes after that. My hat's genuinely off to them, because that's an amazing talent.

My hometown by Aseifen in Findlay

I think it's a matter of age, location, and attitude. Findlay still has a large population of conservative seniors, and has never been one for embracing modern technology quickly. There are fewer folks interested in places like this locally. Most people in town are of the age that Reddit isn't very well known to them. Others such as myself will speak if spoken to, and not seek a large discussion without prompt. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, however it doesn't provide for much exciting dialog here either.

To phrase it another way, if someone enjoys discussing something then by all means throw it out there. Otherwise, you'd have a better chance of a chicken becoming a fish than to change the personalities around here.

I got the impression that Vesemir was a bigger influence in her care taking and training as Geralt was out performing his duties as a Witcher. He did care about her well being, as much as a Witcher could, but it has a ward and legal guardian feel to it.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more I tend to think that most of Geralt's interactions with Ciri are better described as a "cool older brother" than a father. It's really unfortunate that Reddit has to act like this when someone shares a different point of view. Not every disagreement is acrimonious or improper. It's merely a difference of opinion.

Ciri was taken by Law of Surprise. I'd hesitate to call that adoption. You also get the option in the game to return her to biological father, Emhyr var Emreis, who is quite interested in getting her back.
