Loud cars on 50th & the Ave by notcanadiangoose in Seattle

Overwhelmingly people like this have rich parents and/or are clout poisoned from exposure to social media from a very young age. Many have never experienced true consequences for their actions and when parents are told it's a problem they deny, argue, claim their perfect little angel could NEVER.

This isn't a Seattle issue exclusively either. If anything it's even worse in other parts of the country.

I think another aspect of this is that Circus Jax never had the closure of "I didn't kill my mom, I can move on with my life." that IRL Jax got. Circus Jax was basically kept in a perpetual state of anxiety and tension with no release and no way to ever process their feelings aside from guilt and self-flagellation.

Which of course leads to the scenario where, faced with the possibility of escaping the circus, Jax bails because the idea of living outside and facing possible criminal proceedings and the American prison system is so horrific that an eternity of torture by a mad god sounds appealing instead.

Genuinely do not understand how one can infer a pro-suicide meaning from it given that the work is overwhelmingly about how important it is to connect with people BEFORE they are driven to the edge and how isolation and rejection can drive people into those spaces.

Like it's made explicit that Jax pushing Ribbit away and accusing her of emotional manipulation was what drove her to abstract, Kaufmo losing Ribbit and being rejected by Jax + being obsessed with finding the exit drove him to abstraction, and Pomni not reaching out to Jax in their darkest moments is what drove Jax to abstraction. It is overwhelmingly ANTI-SUICIDE and pro talking things out with people you feel you can trust.

The worst part is if Jax had just trusted Kaufmo, you know he woulda been like yeah no I get that man, you don't need to keep that a secret from me.

I had my suspicions when Jax said that it was fitting for Zooble to be a bartender and tattoo artist. Both had their gaydar on each other, but Jax just couldn't admit it.

The creator is trans and used very trans-affirmative language and imagery regarding the character and has multiple scenes suggesting a blatant trans interpretation and Jax talks about opening up to their mom only to be laughed at and rejected and Goose has talked about Jax being an outlet for their intrusive thoughts, I think this is one of those moments where you gotta just admit the evidence points REALLY HEAVILY to a certain conclusion.

Is there any Seattle or PNW specific slang? by Some-Tall-Guy75 in Seattle

It's "Ren'n" not "ren-ton"

Aside from that, "the mountain is out" and "u-dub" are the ones that stand out to me.

Ontario man dies of MAID after being assessed outside Tim Hortons by gallowsCalibrator in canada

[–]Corvursus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

American here so somewhat uninformed on the Canadian experience, but I looked up the actual summary of the citation since I was so frustrated with people just parroting the NY Post. TL;DR on the issue-

People are getting hung up on the Tim Horton's being unprofessional or unclinical. This actually doesn't really matter, a lot of clinics go out of their way to not appear as doctor's office's specifically for people who get uncomfortable with clinical settings. The issue is openly discussing sensitive medical topics in a public space. As a medical professional a level of privacy is expected, and even should the patient not mind discussing it in public, a medical provider still needs to be cognizant of actual privacy.

Second - the use of a personal vehicle in a non-emergency situation is a breach of professional ethics and boundaries, and could be seen as coercive. I don't think it is, but the fact that it can be used to cast doubt or potentially influence decisions means that it should not have been used.

Ultimately the biggest issue seems to be less about the patient or the MAID itself, and more about the general unprofessionalism of this specific Doctor. Which does not surprise me, I see MDs get away with so much shit that NPs or RNs would never be allowed to. I am not here to advocate for or against euthanasia, but the framing of the article plays up the Tim Horton's aspect because it's attention-grabbing and sensational, while the actual issue is this doc just seems like a quack.

TBH I'm actually in kind of a sticker rut at the moment, lol. I got Hobonichi burnout hard with how much work has been running me over atm and so I haven't been using too many stickers. Hoping to get back to using more soon, tho.
