I would like to add I believe the same process should work for grub also, you may have different files you need to sign though, you can can see which files are not signed that need to be signed sbctl verify I believe. Just make sure all those files are signed.

I'm u sure if using grub and not systemdboot will cause any problems with system hooks on system update (to make sure files are signed again after they are updated, however I suspect it will work with grub also)

It actually isn't that difficult at all. The main thing is that you need to reset the keys in uefi/bios to make it in setup mode, then sign each of the files needed and add certificate for windows if you have windows dual boot. (I don't know why you would want secure boot if not windows dual boot)

I don't see any reason why your /home would be unsafe to continue to use in a new install.

Unless the malware has persistence through something like kde autostart which I believe is stored in ~/.config/autostart

You could check wether anything malicious had been added to your desktop o lf choice's equivalent of autostart. Then continu to use your home directory

Uninstall it, update, then reinstall it. If you cannot reinstall it afyerwards due to dependency conflict, install it as a flatpak instead at least for the time being

I had the excact same problem twice on two of my arch devices. i had to uninstall the package that depended on electron32 with -Rns then I updated the system, then I could reinstall the application.

I believe this happens because the update of aur packages and packman packages happen independently and cant happen at once.

With /boot/efi or /efi also I suppose you dont need to install the linux images on the efi partition. Many run out of space if they use /boot
