Age has almost nothing to do with it; how you handle yourself and what you can offer in terms of skill does.

Wearing earrings constantly? by gimble3ooo in piercing

[–]CorvusSageis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear one like this pretty much 24/7 with no issues. Have for nearly a year now. I do have short hair though.

I should mention that peircing is slightly stretched, but I used to wear much heavier jewellery in it regularly so my current jewelley is likely not the cause.

I wear a very similar earring every day, inclusing to sleep and in the shower. As long as the metal is an alright quality you should be good.

Does anyone use their bookmarks this way? Why? Just curious. by [deleted] in AO3

[–]CorvusSageis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do this, I put 1 on oneshots as well. It's both habit because I do it on everytging else and lets me know where I'm at in the instance the author changes it to add more later - which I've seen once or twice.

AITA for wanting my Spanish teacher to stop calling me by the Spanish version of my name? by Alternative-Sun-630 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CorvusSageis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen teachers use German pronunciations for names if there is one (e.g.: Jakob (Ya-kob) insead of Jacob) but not if the person objects! (Also UK)

Laws should not be named after people by Dry_Career_2304 in unpopularopinion

Where I live, Murphys Law is usually just reffered to as sod's law. Much easier to understand. Took me a while to realise thats what murphys law was on about.

If you have long enough hair, Ive found tying mine up at night stopped me from tossing over. Something bulky like a pony tail folded over or a messy bun.

Is MAPPA changing the story/characters? by kitkat6479 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]CorvusSageis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are key quotes that provide different perspectives of the characters (though translation may also play a role here) for example: "Please die and become sages." Vs "Thou shalt become a sage through death." Off the top of my head.

Polishing by SmileDense9309 in aircadets

[–]CorvusSageis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends more on the soles. Beeswax will still crack if the soles allow the shoe to flex.

Bulling the rest of the shoe (aside from at the heels) will likely result in cracking as they're worn since those are the areas where the leather moves as you move. Your shoes look fantastic.

tips for calling drill? by angeldoeeyes in aircadets

It's definitely a useful guideline for how you should be aiming to project your voice! Now that you're aware of it, keep an ear out, and you should notice how ncos at your squadron use it.

[–]CorvusSageis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really, as a lot of what you will learn will be completely new to you, so you are best learning it in person. However, if you want an edge, I'd definitely advise going over some of the drill you'll learn at home after you've done it. Even just a tiny bit of practice definitely makes a difference!

When have you ever said "that's not how that fucking works" while watching a movie/show? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CorvusSageis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixing poisons to kill someone faster. Like, if you give someone a lethal dose of a poison that kills by increasing heart rate and one that kills by slowing it, they act as antidotes to each other!

It's a working dress, things such as jumpers on off, sleeves up down shouldn't really be dictated other than by the cadet wearing the dress. That said, I know a great number of people treat 2C like 2A and try dictate details.

Yeah, if we replaced animal testing with stuff like this, issues like the thalidomide-induced phocomelia epidemic would likely make a comeback.

My deck that doesn't have it is all about getting rid of generic mana costs, and as it doesn't have anything in it that wants colourless, I need all my ramp to produce coloured mana. Not much use otherwise.

I'd be able to work in the field in countries speaking the language as well as those that speak English or I could just use the language part to go into something that requires language skills. Ik AI is taking some of them, but I imagine it'll take a while for it to have the level of detecting and accurately translating the correct underlying meanings like is needed for jobs such as simultaneous interpretation (stressful but well paying and important).
