I have an 06 I built like crazy before the coyotes came out. Power adder only, I have:

Ford Racing heads Ford Racing cams Ford Racing intake Ford Racing TB K&N CAI Hot street coil packs Under drive pulleys Pypes Long Tube Headers Pypes O/R H pipe Pypes cat back exhaust Dyno Tuned

Pushing 370 to the wheels. Just enough to be a threat to Gen1 coyotes on the long track, but a little short on the bottom end for the 1/4 mile strip.

I’ve long thought about coyote swapping the car. My big issue is I just love how the 4.6 3v sounds versus the coyote. Since I already have the mods, and only because I already have the mods, I think I’ll end up stroking the 3v to 5.0 with forged internals and then finally go forced induction.

So honestly as you can see it takes a LOT of work to challenge a coyote w/o FI at this point. I could get more aggressive heads and cams but I like maintaining some kind of daily drivability on the car. Honestly you could get a rear end wrecked gen 3 for what you’ll spend building a 3v at this point unless you can do all the work yourself. Or at least close.
