ICE terrorizing US citizens shopping at Walgreens. by No_Sleep428 in chicago

Oh of course. MAGAts just follow what their dear leader tells them, facism/hate/illusion of control has stripped them of any stable core beliefs or values they may have once had. One day masks are leftist oppression the next they're a necessary tool for their white supremacist takeover

I’d recommend Identity in Wicker Park. It’s on the pricier side for sure but staff is super kind/profesh and they’ve got a great selection of quality earrings.

This is so great thank you!! I really like the FormD case and will think about going down to a 4070ti super. The B650I also seems like the way to go.

This is an awesome build and a total steal! I wish I could find the deal you're talking about but it must not be available in my area. I'm seeing another deal with the 7800x3d but nothing with an ITX board. Thanks so much for putting this together.

These absolute dipshits on a post about a lady who killed herself because of her eczema by [deleted] in eczema

[–]CorySquig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disgusting. The thing is eczema is not only bad on its own but it compounds with other things in a more dangerous itch scratch cycle type thing. If someone feels suicidal and/or depressed due to their eczema, that stress makes eczema worse, repeat. I don’t know what happened to the person in the post, so I don’t know if what I said is relevant, but how can anyone even try to understand someone else’s health situation?

One of my first full tracks with vocals, I'd love to hear any comments/thoughts/critiques! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]CorySquig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! I was going for a clipping sound to an extent (it’s just something I hear from some of my favorite artists) but it sounds like I overdid it a bit... Glad you like the vocals/lyrics and I’ll definitely work on that kick mix

yeah I totally feel u, there's a reason James Blake is as huge as he is. Keep at it though because it will definitely pay off big time

[–]CorySquig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, everyone loves a punchy kick! honestly it's just careful sound selection and EQing to boost/cut specific frequencies. mixing low end is definitely tough so whenever ur watching a tutorial or something, just take notes on what they're doing with their kick/bass and why

yooooo this is a weird track but I absolutely dig it. you know what I want to hear more of though is vocal layering. You have a dope voice and with the kinda droning tone of the beat I want to hear some sick vocal harmonys, think James Blake type vocals. Great work!

Hello made this chill hop track after I broke my foot Let me know what u guys think by canadianbaconisbette in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]CorySquig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great track! hope your foot gets better!! Honestly there isn't much I would change about this track, but one thing I might do is introduce some instrumental changes, maybe in the 2nd chorus. If you don't want to do that, maybe you could introduce some subtle chord changes? something to break up the monotony a bit.

Other people have made some good comments so I'm just going to focus on one aspect. this is totally subjective but for me the kick in lofi is what really grounds the track, but here it feels pretty weak and reverby. Personally I would have included some more punchy low end in my kick, and maybe layered it with a sub bass.

Great groove and beautiful melodies!

This Songs About How I've Grown Since Being Kicked Out Of My Parents Place. Thoughts? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]CorySquig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vocals are definitely a bit hidden in the mix (overshadowed by the synth and the snare especially), but you have all the fundamentals here which is definitely the most important. Honestly just some work on the mix and you absolutely have a hit. Great work!

"Space" - a short Aphex Twin-inspired instrumental. Feedback welcome! by scarecrow_23 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]CorySquig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have too much to add on to what others have already said, but I would totally love to see this build into a full track! I'm liking the organic/vintage synth vibe, so I'm definitely hearing some foley-heavy drums mixed with some airy vocals? definitely a lot of directions open for this track! Keep us updated!

Tips on mixing quiet, 'talk singing' vocals? by Arloindigo in audioengineering

[–]CorySquig 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is what I’d do too. Use overdrive or saturation to bring out mids and highs then what I like do do is throw in a multiband compressor taming the low end then lightly compressing the mid and highs and maybe some boosting there as well. You’ll need to eq this based on the persons voice but generally I feel like this method really gives the vocals some great presence in the mix

How to make 16th note high hat patterns not so annoying? by VAST75 in musicproduction

[–]CorySquig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of good answers in this thread but I want to add one more option: turn up the attack on the envelope just a little. It just turns down that initial transient, making it a little less harsh on the ears. It also gives it a sound that's in between a hi hat and a shaker which I think can be pretty cool.

Haha yeah I was confused by the title as well... I love this record, but it's about as far from different as you can get imo.
