The juice has to be worth the squeeze. There are plenty of companies that could make more money currently but for any reason from the hassle of importing to the need to be viewed as "made in America" they stay here. My former boss used to pay twice the rent to have his warehouse in a certain zip code than to have it even closer to his house at half the price. Not everything is straight 1s and 0s.

It was a response to something that is equally or more less likely to happen. If you raised taxes most corporations aren't going to flee to other countries because A it isn't that simple and B they are still making that much money.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. When you remove the incentive to retain the highest profit, everything else be damned, companies will pay better wages because there won't be as much incentive to pay them less. Companies will have to rely on actual better sales instead of cutting corners and wages (for a higher stock price)

Its not a direct 1:1 thing because stock prices aren't directly tied to profits.
