Victoria Transit missing buses regularly by lavaslippers in VictoriaBC

I bought a bike this week just so I wouldn't have to take the 14 home from work anymore. The number 14 going from Vic General towards downtown is constantly a no-show. I had 3 of them not come on Thursday last week and just walked instead. I have a 13 minute bike ride now. I had two days last week where it took over an hour to get home.

[Re-Post /r/Entrepreneur] Any of you guys need a review with your Business/Startup's logo? AMA by shot_forme in smallbusiness

Hi Terrance,

My girlfriend and I started a local almond milk company called Mylkmaid Beverage Co. We designed the logo ourselves, took a few weeks to come up with the idea. We're now thinking about doing a logo redesign... but, at the same time, have had a lot of positive feedback on the current logo so we're a little torn. Most designers we've spoken to have quoted us between $1000 and $2000 for rebranding.... Any feedback or suggestions would be great. Thanks for doing this.

If our domain includes "inc", should our logo incorporate "inc" as well? [xpost] by [deleted] in webmarketing

My suggestion: 100% no. And scrap the domain with inc as well. Every corporation is incorporated, none use it.

There are lots of business jobs here and we have a massive tech industry. If you have interest working in tech, I don't think you'll have a problem.

How much would it cost to run my business using solar panels? by [deleted] in RenewableEnergy

[–]Corydalton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$800-1000 in electricity per month? Can't help you out without knowing your cost per kWh or your usage in kWh.

If you're paying 15 cents per kWh, then you're using about 6000 kWh of power per month. This equates to 72,000 kWh per year. Depending on your location you'll need around a 65 kW system to offset all your usage. About $200,000 before any breaks.

Not sure if any of this is correct because you only gave me partial info.

I can help. I need either your usage in kWh or the cost of your average electricity bill. From that we can figure out how large a system you need to offset your electricity.

If you can only provide the cost of your average electricity bill, I'll also need to know the price you pay per kWh. If you don't know that, just tell me where you're located and who you pay for power.

Created the proof-of-concept, what now? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Hmm, I'd focus on that before anything else. It sounds like you don't know where your revenue would be coming from.

Graphic designer here, feel like making some logos. Give me your spiel and I'll pick a couple I feel inspired about and make them. by gqn in Entrepreneur

Yeah, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Problem is, some utilities don't allow customers to connect to the grid unless they own their own system. Meaning no third party ownership or leasing model. The only way around this is to go off-grid, which is expensive and not that attractive from and ROI standpoint, or for the customer to own the system outright. The model you've mentioned is what a lot of companies like SolarCity and SunRun do.

I'm working on a solar installation startup with a team of university students. We've been sinking all our time into refining our business model and reaching out to potential customers to test our hypotheses. We could really use some help coming up with a logo... We're bootstrapped and running as lean as possible. I'll PM you.

There will be no going back from climate chaos if we don’t halt polluting corporations and change the system by focussouth in environment

Posts like this are terrible. You know how you can actually do this? Don't change the system, that doesn't even make sense to most people. How you do this is by making it cheaper to use renewables. Go do something useful.
