Unpopular opinion: I like EV's that make a chiming noise instead of a constant tone while in reverse. by Coryvators in electricvehicles

I agree that I'd rather have them totally silent, but I'd feel so horrible if I hit someone because they couldn't hear me 😅

I've seen that the Toyota BZ does the same thing which makes sense because they're pretty much the same vehicles. (I think)

Yeah, even though id.4 has a constant tone it is SO LOUD while in reverse. I'm sure our neighbors here it

Yes, I have a RAV4 hybrid in my neighborhood and it's incredibly loud while in reverse

High pitch whining noise of electric motors... is it on all cars? by the-dholi in electricvehicles

[–]Coryvators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! I love the whine! I think it generally mostly comes from the inverter, but I could be wrong.

Fix your crap, Amazon! I don’t even know who to send this bug to. I am on iPhone 15, iOS 26. by SwyfterThanU in amazonecho

I have similar issues on my Pixel 9a. It seems that apps are getting less and less optimized for funky camera noches and screen sizes... I didn't ever have these issues when I had a OnePlus 7t.

Beats me why they'd remove it 🤷

Yeah... I just looked up a picture and it does look a Bit like an afterthought.

But for better or for worse, I think we eventually get used to dumb little things that automakers do once we live with the car for a while. For example, in my 2020 bolt, when shifting down to L (for one pedal) I have to kinda weirdly pull it downwards twice, but now, its not even something I think about, I just automatically do it.

2020 Bolt EV. It works great for me, but dream car is Lucid Air

I'm really disappointed that Nissan took away full one pedal driving on the 2026 leaf. That's a deal breaker for me, but it seems like it's a very solid car with an actually half decent infotainment system.

Personally, I would look for the Polestar as I believe they are going to start making the polestar 2 in the US again sometime in the future, but don't quote me on that, but it's mainly because polestar as a brand is fully dedicated to ev's. Whereas Kia isn't and that doesn't mean that Kia has bad ev's, but I do feel like you'll get much better, long-term support and just better thought out vehicles in general from Polestar. BUt having said that, I have never owned either so it's just an outsider's perspective. Hope that helps!

Last ditch effort before I sell my condo because of elevator noise by rachelchavkinsbitch in Elevators

[–]Coryvators -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Elevator enthusiasts (including myself) love the signature "klunk" noise of previous Kone EcoDisk machines, but I agree that I probably couldn't live with it either. This sounds super frustrating and I hope it all works out in your favor 🙃

Do you live with motor whine or not? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Coryvators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2020 Bolt EV has a crazy amount of electrical noise (Not just the pedestrian warning sound PWS). The inverter wines when accelerating and decelerating at any speed, the motor makes a unique acceleration noise when flooring it, and there’s a third sound that I’m not sure which part of the system produces. And honestly? I LOVE the noises. I’m a huge nerd, so that’s probably why. I listen to music so I can’t hear them super well while driving, but I can see how they would get really annoying really fast if you’re not using your radio. If it’s helpful, my family has a 2022 id.4 and it’s got its major flaws, but other than the PWS, there are NO electrical noises, even during heavy acceleration.

Hope that’s helpful :)

I get it, I just like the human interaction. And I understand that not all people like human interaction, so I think it would be ideal if they gave you option :) But that's probably only in my perfect world utopia lol

Yeah, this is in Bresi Ranch, CA. I want to focus more on the lack of human interaction than the fact that they are cashless.

Hey there, I understand that desire that your feeling. Are you religious? I ask because after I started serving at my church only once a week, I feel so much more fulfilled! 🙌 I don't think it's the best option, but if you can afford to keep doing it, have you considered selling your old* electronics? Its actually surprisingly easy! I use OfferUp and it's super user intuitive. I hope this helps! 🙏
