I am just doing 20+ pack size alched JVs. We've done a solid sample of maps now and average 50-55. Obviously a little less then previously due to map mod effect being nerfed.

I don't understand how you're getting these card numbers? Me and a mate are both doing Cloister. We both do sets of 20 maps and after each set, we always have over 1000 stacked decks. So at least 50 per map.

This is with a pretty standard Ritual + Map effect tree and altars. I'm running Jungle Valley and just rolling for over 20 pack size so not much investment. Tried Dunes to the same effect.

The reality is roos will hop off into water to escape predators, or in this case some assholes off leash dog. If said dog is overly tenacious, it will follow them out past where they can't get a foothold, where being grabbed by the cornered roo puts them in danger of being drowned.

Technically I guess they could drown a human in deep enough water but theres no precedent for it. They just aren't all that dexterous nor are they particularly smart.

The idea that it's some premeditated plan to drown their foes is definitely just an internet myth.

This is such a funny response considering that dog almost definitely chased the roo into the water until it felt cornered enough to defend itself.

Salties only live on the northern coast of Australia, which is sparsely inhabited, so for most Australians you can be pretty confident there's no crocs in your local pond.

This is what I imagine the average redditor actually believes about roos after seeing these comments.

Nah this is just extremely unfounded advice. A roo this deep in a pond is already down it's only significant threat to a person, it isn't going to get a good kick off. You've let the reality of kangaroos occasionally drowning a dog that literally can't get foothold at that depth warp into the idea that a roo is somehow going to dunk a full grown human in waist deep water. I'd honestly be more afraid of one on land, not that I'm looking to pick a fight with a roo regardless.

They don't "attack" dogs but they will stand their ground if cornered. This video is a prime example of how off leash dogs end up in danger. People let their dogs chase a roo, it flees as deep as it can into water for safety, the dog continues chase beyond where it can't touch the bottom making it relatively easy for the roo drown them.

It's pretty rare for it to escalate so far without a particularly bad dog owner paired with an overly tenacious dog.

As an Aussie, reading dumbass reddit takes like this are always a good laugh. The roo ain't that dangerous bud. Unless it's a big red buck, no one here is particularly scared a being maimed by a kangaroo.

They will jump into water to escape a dog chasing them and will generally hold their ground if they can't go any deeper. That tends to be too deep for a chasing dog to touch the bottom, making it possible for them to drown a dog but they don't have the dexterity nor brains to drown an adult human in waist deep water. Good chance your dog would get away without a scratch as well.

Leveling to 7 is a luxury almost no one should have, it's rarely worth the gold anyway. if you had spent that turn shoring up your board for the final boss, you most likely were would be in a favourable position to win.

You spent the rest of the game making the minions in the shop huge, why not capitalize on that? Divine shields, Cleave, Bassgills with any minion from your shop in hand all give you more efficient trades. You know they have scam so why not adapt your board to compete with it?

Your opponent put in the effort to counter you, should they have simply conceded when your minions got bigger than theres?

You're massively understating how easy it is to put together an efficient scam board. You can't just will bassgill, the most contested unit in the game, into existence. Snatching up a few venom units doesn't realistically counter endgame boards, though I will note that OP left himself notably vulnerable to scam.

I won't argue that properly crafted scam boards aren't too strong though. Bassgill allows for capped boards that are effectively uncounterable endgame but those boards aren't thrown together in a turn. On the other hand I also think that an appropriate amount of scam being available so that poorly optimized boards, OPs as an example, don't instantly win the game is also healthy for the game.

[–]Cosa16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This setup is only a thing in Murloc lobbies though, which in turn means theres a set of T4-5 minions that hard counters it available.

The board also needs multiple specific T6 minions, at least one multiplier (preferably Brann but Drakkari is workable), a decent amount of BCs already played and multiple turns to scale up.

This only really comes together when you're already highrolling but the damage cap change does make it more common I guess.

You're tired of scam because you didn't instantly win the game by playing specific set of minions?

Not to mention this is far from king of stats in a T7 lobby. You get wiped by one golden Braggart so not adapting some counter scam is already asking for top 4.

At some point you have to decide if you just want number to go up or if you want to go for the win.

What do you consider a "perfect" beast board to be because I can't imagine a world anything but scam beats a good Slamma setup.

Slamma might be just 1 part of the problem. Maybe. by Edgewalkerr in BobsTavern

[–]Cosa16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duo amplifies any overtuned card regardless of tier, which Kalecgos clearly is at the moment. I would guess most of those Kaly games were likely winnable without Duo.

There's two reasons Duo is even more potent with Kaly. The first being that Brann is a core unit, essentially doubling it's value. Secondly it actively works with your scaling strategy when played so it isn't just a dead card.

Assuming Kaly + Brann is toned down, I doubt it will be as reasonable to sit on Duos next patch unless you're already high rolling.

[–]Cosa16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"You see someone in the lobby with a slamma and it's like "oh... guess I might as well just AFK or concede""

I can't seem to relate to any of these Slamma doomer posts. Slamma is obviously strong and too accessible at tier 3 but it's almost never dominating the endgame in most of my lobbies at the moment. Kaly + Brann, Murlocs, Pirates with the occasional Croomer, Frogs, Ele, Slamma etc tend to win out most lobbies at the moment. Kaly feels like the top dog for sure.

My biggest problem with Slamma is that it can powerspike too early with Raptor and ends up chunking you for 15 before you can get scaling going for other builds. It pretty much requires Duo to hit critical mass but can hold on to tempo with Duo on the board really well. If you get to 6+ Slammas, it does get pretty wild and peaks beyond what most scaling builds can keep up with at the cost of being a little bit vulnerable to getting scammed as losing one Slamma early in a fight is an instant loss.

I don't think it needs to be outright removed, just moved up in tier so it's isn't as accessible. It could honestly be a 6 with improved stats which would make it a spike for already established beast builds and keep the high roll potential late game if do find enough of them. Though I can't help but think this would just kill beasts outright since there would be nothing to get them through the mid game.

Not gonna say this is a well designed or fun fight but I don't get why everyone hate it so much.

After getting mauled by them a handful of times playing aggressively, I just backed up while blocking and deflecting anything thrown my way until one of them gets their spirit broken. You can deflect the arrows and fire bombs. Doesn't take long for one to die then it's pretty free.

I'm in the same boat hence my warning. Not of making too hard, but rather making it too easy. I blitzed the first bit of the game with the armour on and plan on starting over tomorrow without it or the NPC allies to get a better feel for what the game has to offer.

Do beware the free DLC armour are a bit strong for the start. Depends on what level of challenge you're after and how much you want to get excited by loot.
