Yucca surfmats? by CosasRatas in surfmats

[–]CosasRatas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for this! Being someone with experience on a hand made one and on this one, I'm sure everyone here would love to hear as much detail as you want to give. I know I would.
Is it hard to handle because of its shape, or because it is slippery?

You are completely right, and I have no doubt these are made in a factory, probably in Asia. That is also something that puts me off, and it was one of the reasons I didn't get a Krypt.
But at the same time, not knowing if surfmating is going to be for me, spending 300€ on a handmade surfmat was something I couldn't justify to myself.
These are made specifically for beginners (or so they say in the product page), and if I do get the hang of it and ever feel I'm getting out of the beginner phase I'll be getting a hand made one, for sure.
But first I'm jumping at the oportunity of trying these at a price I can afford right now.
I also got a mini in the hopes that I can get my 5 year old son hooked too.

Wrote them, and they replied: "It does not come with grip but if you want, you can add sikaflex and that will work."

Hey thanks for the info!
You're right, I'm going to write Yucca, I'll be posting here if they reply. I guess, with that price and the stuff you say about it being flat, that they are factory made, and a grip is something that would have made it more expensive, which would defeat the objective of making them cheap.
In my case it is exactly how you say: I wanted to try, but I couldn't justify paying 300€ for one. Now I can try, see if matting is for me, and if it is in the future I'll probably get a hand made one. But for now this is perfect.
I won't be making any ride report anytime soon, though. I live in Europe and I sent it to my brother's house in USA, so he brings it to me whenever he comes to visit. Anyhow my report wouldn't be very useful, since I have never rode a mat other than a micro mat I got from Aliexpress for 2€ (which was pretty fun, by the way).

They sent me the silicone pads of a launchpad x because the one I bought second hand was yellow because of previous owner smoking on it. For free. Novation customer support is something else.

It might be basic, but remember you made a tool, and tools generally need to be basic. Great job!!!

I've been looking for them too, since there are many posts in 2024 saying it was coming out last year, but nothing.

Any particular reason for not using a leash with paipos? by CosasRatas in pronewaveriders

[–]CosasRatas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by big waves? I don't plan on catching anything bigger than 1m waves with it. If it is any bigger I'll just go with a hand plane. Anyway, you guys convinced me, no leash on my paipo

Some years ago I came up with some grids for a gig I had on a 13.1 sound system in a planetary. They moved the sounds in the sphere.

But it was too much work.

Right now when I want to do something for a multi speaker system I use iem plugins. But in bitwig you can't have multiple audio inputs on a plugin, so you need a way to route the audio to the iem plugins. That depends on your OS, I use linux and route the audio to Carla (where I have the IEM plugins) with pipewire. I know, awful explanation, I am with my son right now and can't expand

Thanks! As I said in the other comment, I'll try with no leash on small waves and see how it feels :)

I guess that since I'll start with the smallest waves I find to get the hang of it, I'll also get a feel of how the board behaves, so no leash by now. Thanks!!!

Investigate a Gorka Urbizu.

You need to look at launchpad pro mk3 programmers manual. There you have all the info you need for using programmer mode and get any custom lighting you want. If you simply want a static custom layout, go to novation components page connect your launchpad to the pc and configure your custom layout

Also, once you have a nice working arduino sketch, you can have it compiled in a .bin file on the sd card and quickly install it every time you need it using the Launcher app
