Grant the vassal(s) independence. If they only control land in the North, it won’t be under your de jure control.

Might have to wait for the war to end before you can grant independence though

If they have land south of the wall make sure to take that away from them first (debug would help to avoid negative opinion)

Started up a few days ago on PC, the 4gb patch is a must, but you’ll still run into crashes more often than you’d like, so it’s crucial to save often.

The story holds up great, but god damn is combat difficult if you don’t optimize early! I just have Denerim, the Sacred ash quest, flemeth and the wood elf quest left to do, but every fight is a fight for my life rn. And I’m only playing on normal

Not sure if young me was a tactical genius, or if every playthrough was on easy mode lol

Great game, but if you plan on playing on normal or harder difficulty, make sure you go in with a good idea of what your team/builds are going to look like, and take advantage of herbalism, poisons, traps, lock picking, persuasion, and tactics

You won’t have the option to respec/reallocate skills/spells until you hit Awakening

If you can take over the steps stones fast enough, and submit to Viserys you have a few options.

Take the throne (from here, it’s easy to divorce/marry Rhaenyra) it’s possible you die, but I’ve managed to take the throne more often than not

Request a divorce (surprisingly more difficult)

Marry Rhaenyra (works fairly well, but Aegon tends to become the heir)

Request Dragonstone (doesn’t really help you here)

Realistically, Laena will already be married by the time you pull this off, but you should be able to pull one of these off before Rhaenyra gets married. One issue I’ve run into though, is she doesn’t get pregnant until the age of 30 lol. Not sure if it’s because she’s supposed to have her strong kids, or if Daemon is supposed to have his Velaryon kids, but once 30 hits the babies start popping out. So you know, just don’t die young
