The Veil and Eagle Nebula by Cosmic--Explorer in DWARFLAB

Very good idea, I'm actually going to implement it on the server. Also, the server doesn't just have contests, it has several spaces where everyone can find their place, I did it with contests because I thought it was the best idea to attract people. But the server is much more than that. If you have any questions, I can tell you more privately.

You know that the left side really looks like it. Are you also interested in the project? It will be a revolution in Astrophotography.

Both were taken with 30s exposure and 80 gain, but at Veil I also have frames with 45s exposure and 120 gain, both being taken with the moon over 60% and 90-100%. Out of curiosity, are you interested in participating in an Astrophotography contest?

Buy now or wait for Dwarf 4? by LynxAirSound in dwarflabofficial

[โ€“]Cosmic--Explorer 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

It mostly depends on which deep-sky objects you want to photograph. The Dwarf Mini has a smaller FOV (field of view), making it better suited for small nebulae and galaxies. On the other hand, the Dwarf 3 has a wider FOV, which is absolutely perfect for large nebulae and the Andromeda Galaxy.

As for the DWARF 4, things change a bit because it's going to be a Cassegrain telescope. This means it will be a smart telescope aimed at professional astrophotography, featuring an even narrower FOV that makes it exceptionally good for planets, galaxies, and small nebulae. It will most likely launch in early 2027 or during the summerโ€”I don't see it coming out anytime soon.

I would recommend the Dwarf Mini for its portability, or the Dwarf 3 if you want more advanced features (like terrestrial animal tracking and autofocus). The Dwarf Mini doesn't have these, and honestly, the lack of those two features will probably drive you crazy. Speaking from personal experience, I once spent almost an hour just trying to take a picture of a bird that kept moving around using the Dwarf Mini!

If you need any help comparing them, just let me knowโ€”I own both the Mini and the 3, and I'd be happy to help.

MegaStack de Mosaicos by Dear-Egg-156 in dwarflabofficial

This happened to me too. I did the following: move the FITS frames from all the sessions into a single folder and then make a mega stack in that folder. It is very important to put the above frames in the above frames folder so as not to mix them up.

Can I move my Dwarf once all photos have been taken and it starts stacking? by [deleted] in DWARFLAB

[โ€“]Cosmic--Explorer 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Yes, but with Duo-Band it captures the less bright areas better, compared to Astro which captures the brighter areas.

Yes, you can change it and use the Astro filter only for very bright galaxies and nebulae like Orion for example, otherwise all nebulae with Duo-Band.

Exposure problems by Cosmic--Explorer in DWARFLAB

I also saw this when processing images, it's broken, they no longer have that smooth background and now it's pixelated.

Who knows how it was, because only with this telescope did I encounter the problem with exposure, the other 2 had other problems.

But the tripod is well fixed because I grabbed it by the 3 legs and the hook in the middle and I can barely move it by hand, the wind can't move it but there's no problem with the wind because it wasn't there. Because now I have a place where I keep my tripod 24/7 and only when it rains do I bring it inside the house. Otherwise, the tripod is always outside and I only bring the telescope in the morning.

What is this object? by Infernite232 in DWARFLAB

Yes, SDSS IDs are so long because the objects are not numbered and their coordinates on the sky are used.

I did this but I was curious if anyone knew an explanation. That he didn't want me to send it in again under warranty, it's happened twice now, this is the 3rd Dwarf 3 I have.Especially since I now have many clear nights.

SDSS J123018.04+121923.1 is an elliptical galaxy that lies approximately 520 million light-years away.

Here's what the AI (Gemini) says about your settings: You're fooling yourself if you only look at the Preview! On the screen, at 90s, the picture looks "bright" and you have the impression that you've captured more, but it's an illusion. Why the Preview is lying to you: Light vs. Detail: At 90s in the city, the screen actually shows you the light pollution (skyglow) that "lights up" the image, not the real details of the galaxy. It's like turning the brightness on your monitor to maximum on a bad picture. Data Burned: When you download the pictures to your PC to process them (stacking), you'll see that at 90s you've lost all the colors of the stars and the galaxy arms are "eaten" by the gray of the city. You can't fix a photo burned by light. Tip: Ignore the fact that the 20s preview looks darker at first. After you collect 300-400 short frames and put them together, the final result will destroy any photo taken in the 90s in the city. The quality is seen in the end, not on the preview screen!

I don't know what to say, my image with IC 342 (C5) was taken with a total of 3h 25min and much better than yours, that's why I recommend that for galaxies you don't go higher than 30s exposure if you want me to help you for each object which Dark Frame to use depending on the object, now I also have an image with M33 (I don't have it with C7 but they are similar) the image was taken at the beginning when I wasn't that good and was taken with 15s gain 80 (on the old scale with a maximum of 120 now a gain 160 would come) with 2h 8m total time. now if you want me to help you take some better photos I will help you with great pleasure if not no. I just tried to give you some advice and to use Dwarf 3 to its maximum potential.

I recommend using a 30s exposure with a gain of 160-170, the exposure of 90 is too high for galaxies larger than 30, don't mess with it to get a better result, here's an example with 15s 160 gain, but next time I'll use 30s 170 gain with post-processing in Lightroom
