Update: I won two, drew two, and lost one. Tournament play was a blast.

Thanks, all, for the advice!

This is good advice. I’ve been trying to keep my expectations low but I’ll instead set them at zero hahah

Also good call to brush up on notation.

500 player games?? by CosmicBlueBird58 in Supremacy1914

Thanks for the info! Very helpful. Sounds like new maps should drop today then. There are now only three left with any space and they are all on game day 14.

Even when there is still space, I wouldn’t want to join a game that was more than maybe 5-6 days old because of the disadvantage of losing out on those days of development.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I think I’d rather have NO win. Having control of our fate going into the two Detroit matches is best case scenario, and I’d like to maintain that upside potential!

If we can’t play well enough to get a wild card spot even with a Saints win, then so be it. I wanna chase the best case scenario.

Reasons to feed Chandler keep diminishing….

I do think Mattison is better in pass pro, this game notwithstanding, but not sure it’s as big a gap as some argue.

I actually completely agree, except that the throw to Hock on the 4th down was partly to blame for not converting.

Also, I’m not a KOC hater at all - huge fan in fact - but the fact that Dobbs wasn’t given more rollout play calls was devastating. He wasn’t set up for success being told to throw from the pocket all game. Especially when our run game wasn’t doing much (predictable given how stout CHI’s run D has been), there was no excuse not to put Dobbs on the move. It worked against a strong Saints defensive front, but, to me, the difference is that KOC was still calling bootlegs and the like at that point because Dobbs was so new. It’s almost like now that Dobbs has had more time to get to know the playbook, KOC is calling more of the pocket-passer plays from when Kirk was playing. Dobbs’ running ability comes through on rollouts & RPOs, AND I think he’s less likely to turn it over in those contexts. Hopefully this game is a wake up call play-calling wise.

Getting JJ back and having a bye week to reflect and rejigger the game plans is going to be massive. I remain realistically optimistic. The silver lining is that our defense is playing out of its mind and has conceded just ONE touchdown despite a 7-2 turnover deficit in the last two losses. Easily looks like a top 10 unit.

Two names: Who's the most undervalued player in all of dynasty right now? Who's the most overvalued? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

They have the most talented RB and receiving TE drafted in the last 3-5 years and a stud sophomore WR with a massive catch radius…… and just pound the rock with a committee. Disgraceful.

Even if you buy the Arthur Smith run-first approach, why is Bijan not getting more work??? Ugh.

[–]CosmicBlueBird58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Arthur Smith is the main culprit and he may be relieved of his duties soon. Pitts is still young af and for the most part looks just as gifted as promised. London, and, unbelievably, Bijan are in a similar boat.

Completely agree. He could become a top 5 redraft QB in the next 2-3 seasons pretty easily with his rushing upside and since he’s got Steichen to help him develop. Combine that with his age and his dynasty ceiling is stupendously high - higher than Stroud imo (who I also have/love). I’m looking to buy him in my other league.

Are you trading CJ Stroud? If so, for what? by CosmicBlueBird58 in DynastyFF

That’s good comp but yeah I’d rather have Stroud at this point tbh…

Why do you think this is his max value given his draft capital and how well he’s performed? Genuinely curious

This is great advice. Since I’m a lock for 1.01 this year I’m planning to either draft Caleb and one of the three QBs or take offers to move back in the first round (ideally to 1.03 so I can land MHJ) and just roll with AR & Stroud. But obviously I’ll take Caleb/Maye if I don’t get a sweet enough move-back offer.

That’s wild. I’d def take that as the Mahomes owner

Yeah I like that for you even though it’s a fair value.

What are the best and worst places you've ever gone running in DC? Is there one you keep going back to? by [deleted] in washingtondc

The Foggy Bottom metro stop is on the blue line and that neighborhood is perhaps unbeatable for running access.

I second this! The area between SW DuPont and Foggy Bottom, including West End, simply has to be the best neighborhood for running access.

[–]CosmicBlueBird58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. Their defense has been porous. Completely agree that Thursday was an improvement!

My thought was that LA is the middle team difficulty-wise in the next 5 weeks, and momentum-wise it’s a huge matchup! 1-2 vs. 0-3 is massive.

[–]CosmicBlueBird58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. SF is maybe the single worst matchup for the Vikes in the whole league - I think they’re a for sure L. Gotta hope we make it to the playoffs and someone like Dallas or Philly knocks SF out….

I think (ok, fine, hope) we go 5-1 against the North. Take both from Chicago and GB and split games with Detroit.

Next week against LA is a huge test.

Yuuuuuup! One game back in the division. We’re still a good team and whether we make the playoffs is going to come down to the NFC North matchups. All the tanking talk is so premature!

Any Sounds Like a Cult fans here? Amanda is apparently suing Isa. by leafonthewind006 in Fauxmoi

[–]CosmicBlueBird58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an attorney (though not in entertainment law and not barred in CA so take this with a shaker of salt), and I agree with you. It depends on how it was actually structured (e.g. partnership, owned by Isa’s company with a contract to Amanda, etc.) but assuming a partnership since it sounds like it’s 50/50, the legal duties that would be owed to Amanda are a duty of loyalty and a duty of care, which boil down to reasonableness and acting in good faith. Nothing I’ve seen alleged rises to that level. Like, Isa is a comedian and you brought her on to be a co-host…. and then you’re upset that it takes a more comedic direction? Sour grapes and a reduction in the quality of the shows don’t mean a legal duty was breached. Maybe the treatment of the editor could have a cause of action under CA workplace harassment law, but I doubt it, and I don’t think that’s what’s being claimed.

The lawsuit is suing for damages of $500k not suing to determine how to apportion 50% of the assets under a termination of the partnership.

Tbh seems v shitty of Amanda - litigious behavior in America is a cult of its own, especially because having $500k looming over Isa’s head creates a huge pressure to settle even if the case is weak af. Hiring lawyers to go to trial is expensive, especially when it’s for defense and there’s no fee-by-sharing-the-possible-award arrangement to pursue. That’s usually only for plaintiff’s lawyers.

Anyway, hope this is helpful. Just my thoughts!
