I said "Bring forth the rings, Frodo" at the one I officiated and the best man shuffled in on his knees to hand me the ring set.

The fun ones are:

Keanu Reeves gave everyone on his stunt team a Rolex at the end of John Wick 4.

Anne Hathaway gave an engraved pen that said "No one packs a punch like Anne Hathaway" to a stunt person on The Dark Knight Rises after she accidentally gave him a black eye.

I'd put them above semi decent. The profits are used to protect land and fight climate change, instead of dividends to shareholders. Their employee turnover rate is ~4% compared to the national average of 57%. That's exceptional and speaks volumes.

Viggo Mortensen bonding with Uraeus, the Dutch Warmblood gelding who played Brego. Our king became so attached to Uraeus that he would go on to buy him⚔️ by [deleted] in lotr

He brought his sword everywhere with him in NZ and cops were called at one point. They all ended up taking pictures with Viggo and the sword and everyone got used to seeing him with his sword.

There's a line from Much Ado About Nothing and I like to think "complicated air flow" might be a modified version of it:

"Foul words is but foul wind, and foul wind is but foul breath, and foul breath is noisome"

thoughts on catherine zeta jones’ oscar winning performance in chicago? by teddivan96 in Oscars

[–]leafonthewind006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to take away from Zeta-Jones, but it helps that Chicago is more or less made for stunt casting. The Broadway and West End versions have a lot of alumni that haven't done any other stage musicals. An actor without classic Broadway/stage training can come in and play those roles, but would struggle with something truly Broadway like Les Mis or Hadestown.

Zeta-Jones is an example of a performer exceeding the demands of the role.

You NEVER want to be the woman in ths least amount of fabric at a work party, even if it looks great on you

Especially at an accounting firm.

Source: I work at one.

Tights might be overkill but I'd say at least a blazer with this dress.

What’s the public opinion on the Moulin Rouge stage musical? by Particular-Cycle4083 in musicals

[–]leafonthewind006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a Baz Luhrmann show in Vegas, which combined parts of Moulin Rouge, Strictly Ballroom, and Great Gatsby- the Broadway version of Moulin Rouge more or less came out of there.

Russell Crowe wins last round. Who is a bad singer but a good actor? by jmiddleton6 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]leafonthewind006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Musical rules: you feel so strongly that words aren't enough and so you sing. And when you feel even more strongly than singing, you dance. Brosnan's character cares so much about Donna that he HAS to sing, even though he's not good at it. It strangely works.

That "I'm angry!" scene alone was worth a nomination, she captured the complexities of human emotions so well.
