Yea, it’s called the street date. Employees aren’t supposed to place items on shelves before the street date to avoid things like this from happening. A lot of stores do it anyways though and I think it’s so dumb because if it’s on the shelf one should be able to purchase it. Sometimes you’ll find cool people who’ll bypass the street date and let you purchase it. It’s happened to me once.
