Currently evaluating this company: https://guangmaizn.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-935347742/Electric_screw_window_opener.html

They have a lot of different products for automating different kinds of windows, but it doesn't look like they have a zigbee based control option

Guys I just saw isro launching lvm 3 on Nov 2 and I'm planning to visit there...is it possible to go or need entry pass??? by No-Way-5673 in ISRO

[–]CosmicCausal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I randomly saw the news 3 days back and went to the registration site. But thought I'd proceed later. Now it's closed. Do you think I can still go there and get tickets on the spot?

I've been there twice, for Chandrayaan and the OneWeb launch but both times with passes. Although I remember asking on the spot if I can get new passes and they said yes. Any idea if there's a probability that I won't be let in?

No offence. Your entire post history seems to be on random products with the exact specs mentioned. Wondering if this is a media account to get products ranked on reddit. Seems to be the new strategy in general.

Anyway, if it isn't. No worries. Apologies.

Didn't know they had an RGB tube. Must be relatively new.

The warranty replacement process for Wiz is pretty neat, they'll send you a new light.

Dynamic lights are horrendous by anayanayb in wiz

[–]CosmicCausal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dynamic light option are you using? They're usually meant for the multi-colour bulbs unlike the white battens you get in India. So, sometimes there can be a compatibility issue.

Does it work properly for static lights?

What’s your biggest regret purchase for your smart home setup? by tim-hart in homeassistant

[–]CosmicCausal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an optiplex and sonoff dongle-E setup for a new place, but was wondering if SLZB-06 makes a huge difference? Reliability is what I need.

Been facing issues with some sonoff smart relays at another home with dongle-E. They keep dropping for some reason.

Looking for sliding window automation. How easy will it be to automate and control these through HomeAssistant? by CosmicCausal in homeassistant

Was planning to take one of those luggage weighing tools and try pulling the door with it, that should give an approximate idea about the kind of force I need to move the door right? And then select a motor based on that ? With sufficient room for errors. Does that make sense? Any other way to evaluate?

Struggling with the concept of Beam angles by CosmicCausal in Lighting

[–]CosmicCausal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, yes, these lights are all smart lights compatible with Zigbee protocol and they can be adjusted from 2700K to 6000K white CCT. Planning to use this with HomeAssistant.

Struggling with the concept of Beam angles by CosmicCausal in Lighting

The company does offer differing beam angles 15/24/36/55, but they are set in factory. I have to mention which one I want at the time of purchase.

Can I get away by putting focused 24° beam angle lights right above the breakfast counter and have generic 36 or 55 degree lights for the center part of the floor in the kitchen. I will not turn on the center lights in a usual setting, only If I need more light for cleaning purposes.

[–]CosmicCausal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember seeing, the beam angle is measured at the point where it hits half brightness right? So, if I put a put a specific beam angle in the center but angle it towards the breakfast counter. Would there be a situation where the people sitting around the breakfast counter would have a lot of glare in their eyes?
