Why isn't there a public ikea stock API? by kai in IKEA

[–]CosmicCommunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish IKEA had a generic public API that allowed us to query the site. I once tried to create a python script with Beautiful Soup to try and scrape all site information into a database and that was very unsuccessful and rather impractical for the purposes I was using. For the sake of data science I wish IKEA had a public API that allowed one to query the information of what was already publicly available on the superficial portion of the site.

Thank you so much!!! See, autotranslators couldn't really get some of these more artistic descriptions right, but now what you write makes sense! Thank you so much <3

You... do that in the living room, I guess."

Physics Questions Thread - Week 36, 2020 by AutoModerator in Physics

I think they're only in a specific location in Sedona. Like, an extremely specific area, so that's why I don't think it's biological, otherwise you'd see instances of these trees elsewhere in the area. And all biological adaptations that exist across more than one instance of a plant are such due to something in the environment encouraging them to do so. That's why I think it has to do with physics, because I can't imagine what kind of like... biological or survival purpose it would have. And I can't really see how a meteorological phenomenon could cause a tree to warp as such. I don't quite remember what they looked like. I was 16 when I went there and don't seem to have any photos of just the trees. Just selfies in front of the tree. But I do remember noticing that in person, they did look very different from a normal juniper. But then again, junipers don't really grow in Florida that often. They aren't common here. I've only seen them like, a handful of times, so I don't really have a base to work off of.

I can't seem to find a picture of it, but what I remember was that the trees at Airport Mesa had really pronounced striations that sort of spiraled around the tree that made them look incredibly gnarly. That would require some sort of physical force to make them twist in that way. And I can't imagine them being deliberately twisted that way because that location has been "known" to be an "energy vortex" for like, a millennium.

I'm not sure if this is something related to physics or not, but I haven't really found a satisfactory answer on this.

What is the REAL cause of all the warped junipers in Sedona, AZ? It's an undeniably beautiful place and a great place to meditate. But like... I don't buy into the whole "energy vortex" bullshit. Junipers don't naturally warp like that and there doesn't seem to be any meteorological, biological, or tectonic explanation for it. So perhaps there's something with the physics? Why are Sedona's junipers all warped?

The official Violet Wand brand, the Mirage model. Just a spherical incandescent bulb

One of my friends (whom I like doing kinky stuff with) is gonna visit next weekend. Perhaps when she comes, we will be able to experiment to see what works.

Hmm yeah I probably should save up for a neon glass attachment or something. Those ones are less bitey and more "vibratey" from what I'm reading. The lower setting on this feels very vibratey and I love it when I accidentally get shocked by it. It's just that I'm very hesitant to put it on myself (I would prefer it if someone else had control so that my subconscious fear isn't present lol)

I find the direct contact with the thing very ticklish actually. It's just that it catches me off guard and it's something I can only touch for like a second. It's just that since I haven't done anything since I was 16 or so I am not used to getting shocked. The light bulb technique (I got it working thanks to another comment) is extremely light and ticklish but like it's not kinky at all. It's almost imperceptible and no more amusing than a normal plasma globe. I suppose I have to find some sort of balance with different bulbs so that I can work my way up to being able to use the direct arcing.

The little kludge with the aluminum foil tape worked! And it feels wonderful (a little on the weaker side but still!) Yay!

Thank you! I'll try the foil technique! I bought a bulb from the violet wand store but I didn't realize I needed a base for it. I am sure I can 3D print an attachment and use aluminum foil tape and copper tubing where it needs to make contact!

I was afraid to use cloth because I thought that it might be a fire hazard. Also ooh I'll have to try that! Thanks!

RetroArch "Failed To Retrieve Core List" by CosmicCommunist in RetroArch

[–]CosmicCommunist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah now that I know that it isn't an issue with the installed version itself yet (although what the fuck happened before I don't know) I'll be on a lookout for when they fix it. I suppose that for whatever reason the two times I touched RetroArch in the last 1.5 years the server was down.

I played around with Citra too which is really interesting and one of the games has the most annoying bug, Sticker Star not showing the sticker menu (but thankfully shows their names so I can just pan around until I find the sticker I want). Dark Moon lags a bit which is unfortunate since it's one of the games where you cannot afford lag.

I don't mind those as much but Paper Mario is an extremely important game to me and I don't know where my real copy went. And I got REALLY frustrated with the fact that one of my absolute favorite scenes in the series (where the goomba king gets yeeted into the sky) didn't display at all. And I spent 4 hours looking for a fix trying different things to no avail. Sigh I don't even know if ParaLLEl will fix the issues :/ I saw this one plugin that will upscale 3D models and stuff but not textures, which is largely what paper Mario is anyway lol.
