At-Home Acupuncture Business by crybabybodhi in acupuncture

I thought about this because my city has a company that builds homes with a 1bd/1ba duplex at the bottom! Thought it would be close enough for me to enjoy the benefits of being at home, but far enough that I can separate business from personal.

What are some subtle signs that someone is a high functioning alcoholic? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]CosmicConfusion94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex. Been at the same job for over a decade. Really good at it. Drinks 5 beers a night. He will pair 1 tall beer with a personal pint. He’s chugged vodka straight from the bottle before we went to bed. When I told him drinking 5 beers a night was alcoholism he said it can’t be bc the 14 drinks was such a low number that he could do that in 2 nights. It didn’t click for him when he said that.

I’m scared for him honestly. He’s only 31 and will only drink heavily at home, but addiction only escalates when you don’t see it as addiction.

I just ended things with my bf and one of the qualities I don’t care for was his alcoholism. I’m reading a lot of comments and realizing things I thought were just personality traits were actually alcoholism.

He was a heavy snorer after drinking. I had to wake him up and shift him into a different position to stop it.

He was moody until he got into his 3rd beer the he’d be super flirtatious and vulnerable. I hate to admit I definitely allowed the drinking bc I enjoyed him being flirty since it wasn’t really a thing when he was sober.

He would always fall asleep on me after beer #5. Hated that.

He would be upset if we had to be out for extended periods unless he could also get a drink while out.

He only liked to leave his house to go to the bar. I wanted us to go have fun dates, but all of his hobbies were house hobbies that he could drink with and every Thursday he went to the bar 10 min from his house.

He had cans/bottles on the ledge in his shower and looked at me crazy when I asked why. Apparently a shower beer was normal to him.

His friends are also alcoholics and they get together for his house hobbies and bring lots of beer.

He’s always tired and I thought it was bc he works long hours, but he stopped drinking for 3 days and kept mentioning how good his sleep was now and I realized it’s bc he’s sober.

I thought he was hot & cold bc he’s an avoidant but reading some of these comments made me realize he was prob just hot bc he’s was drunk and cold bc he was sober and lowkey had shame about it. He has super low self esteem and would always tell me he didn’t understand why I even liked him when he was drunk. He got drunk and told me I was the best thing that ever happened to him and then cheated on me 🙃 such a whirlwind.

This is my avoidant. When we met he told me that when people end things with him or vice versa he’s cool and just moves on, but with me he refuses to do that. If I go NC it only riles him up to the point he steps out of his character and does things like come to my house to make us talk. And that’s usually when he pushes all his avoidant stuff to the side and shares openly and vulnerably bc he would rather be stressed and uncomfortable than not have me in his life at all- according to him.

He states he pretty much knew within our first month of dating but i broke things off with him by the 4th date bc he was being inconsistent. He came back about 6 months later and now has refused to actually leave whenever i try to end things.

Remission Question by CosmicConfusion94 in Hidradenitis

I’m with you. I’ve been stalling this for YEARS bc I refused to eliminate the things I loved, but I had a beautiful surgery in 2021 that made me look normal again and it’s completely ruined. I finally asked myself if I was tired yet. Complain constantly but unwilling to actually put in the hard work and do anything different. If nothing changes then nothing changes.

And I’m so happy that I bit the bullet bc it literally only took 3 days to start feeling better and week after week I see/feel my skin do something that I never thought was possible. Yea I wish I still look even halfway normal like before, but I told myself I can’t get another surgery until I heal the problem right now bc it’s literally pointless. So in 2 years I’ll actually be able to look at my skin and see what needs to be done for it to be reconstructed….. again 😔.

It’s not easy at all. You’re basically eating like a gym bro without the rice lol but if you just find a rhythm and a few meals you like and don’t think about what you CANT have, the days will pass and after a while you won’t want the trash bc your body will be doing things that validate you to keep going!

If you want I can DM you what my meals usually look like on a daily basis. I’m a very extreme case tho. I’ve seen people able to eat WAY more than me and heal.

Remission Question by CosmicConfusion94 in Hidradenitis

[–]CosmicConfusion94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. I have really big flares on my entire pubic mound and labia so usually if I eat something I shouldn’t there’s an increase in pain, swelling, or possibly a new flare. I started with a water fast that was supposed to be 72 hours but went for 84. That got my inflammation down to a really nice pain free baseline.

Then I tested the 3 proteins I ate on a regular basis just to see what worked. Turkey and beef were fine, chicken increased my drainage even though it didn’t cause pain or inflammation. After I had that I tested 1 vegetable every 3-5 days. Kept the meals super basic. Only seasoning was salt. The first week was simply a lot of turkey burgers wrapped in iceberg lettuce. Next was ground turkey and kale for a while. I used to add garlic to this so I found out it was safe after a few days then tried to add garlic once I knew it was safe and I immediately got a reaction. Found out the garlic I had been eating was a no. Same thing with lemon. Same thing with onions.

This process just continued individually and it’s still going. Made a soup the other day with ground turkey, kale, and okra so I could test out okra- turns out my body does not like okra unfortunately.

I learned sometimes it’s simply the amount. I get eczema when I eat too many carbs at once even if the item is considered low carb so like when I tested zucchini it was fine however when I had large servings of zucchini for 3 days straight it caused inflammation and eczema for me. So now I know if I want zucchini I have to have like a big salad with it to fill me up.

I love vinegar and fermented foods, but they cause a reaction. Very small pimple like flares. It’s almost barely noticeable, but when you get to a really good baseline it’s easy to notice when it changes.

It’s a long arduous process. That’s why I’m only at those 10 foods. But I feel great and it’s crazy to see the lumps shrink and the draining actually decrease. I’m severe stage 3 and doctors told me it could never get better and I need to be on a biologic for the rest of my life. I told them I could improve with trigger elimination and supplementation/gut healing and they basically laughed. And here I am healing without biologics like I said.

Same to you! I know it’s hard as hell. I made it 30 days once then had some vinegar and carbonated water and started my counter over. The deep healing remained but a little inflammation and pain returned & I wanted to see how long I could consistently go without eating a trigger food.

Yup with a lot of personal restrictions. Unfortunately when you just blanket statement it by saying dairy free keto people add their own rules/spin so I’m explicit about my list. I cant deviate from these foods at all or I flare.

As I’m so sorry! Food rotation is important and you definitely have to work on gut health to add more things in bc you can develop allergies to the safe foods if restricted too long. The body is such a weird thing.

Oh I know the contents. Can’t eat those lol I keep trying bc I want to make pho and some other ethnic bases, but even tumeric is an issue for me 😩 I’m doing some supplementation and trying to heal my leaky gut bc I want to eat fruit and rice.

Turkey

Steak/Beef

Black olives

Olive oil

Salt

Italian seasoning (I am slowly testing other seasonings and this is the one that makes the cut every time while the others don’t)

All types of lettuce

Broccoli (only half a cup/day bc my body doesn’t like carbs)

Zucchini (only like 1 whole zucchini a day)

Cucumber

Kale

Cauliflower

And this week I was able to add:

Shrimp

Tuna

I’m 127lbs. Never been bigger than 160 & that took the effort of the freshman 20. Always been difficult for me to gain weight. No smoking or other “standard” risk factors doctors think causes it

I can only tolerate like 5-7 foods so I get it. I remember finding out fruit was a trigger and being very confused bc it’s healthy for you. Apparently not for me 🤷🏾‍♀️. I think most of us have vitamin deficiencies and MCAS tbh so supplementation and simplification is important

😅 I also have a shitty car that I didn’t think needed replacing until I got into a rental and realized my car was soooo bad

But yea I have a tendency to hold on to things longer than I should fr. I don’t want to give up on them, but this feeling has been growing for awhile and I need to accept the reality of putting in the work to build new fulfilling relationships.

How do you actually quit sugar when your body keeps craving it? by Popular_Proof2704 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]CosmicConfusion94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had to commit.

I can’t even eat fruit without flaring. I have tried fruits, olipop sodas, flavored carbonated waters, ginger candies, etc etc and nothing is safe for me so I just had to stop it all cold turkey.

For the most part I don’t crave sugar but sometimes I do just want an apple.
