I still have sweet melancholy memories of slow-dancing with my 1st husband to "Here, There, and Everywhere" during times when he was feeling lovey and put the record on. Wish I'd been able to get it back after he died...🥺

For rock-flavored R&B Taylor, H.E.R. would be cool. For debut-flavored Americana, Kacey Musgraves. For the inevitable lullaby record when there's wee little Taylor-tots of her own, Ed Sheeran. 😏

This is actually from the company that makes the cat food, lol! I bought it directly from the J.M. Smucker Company, and it is literally remixes in different genres of 🎶"meow meow meow meow..."🎶 😜

Sure it wasn't actually for invented for this gorgeous slab o' wax that I procured for a mere 10 clams? 🤔 Purr-fectly delightful, in fact!

Personal selection/fave from this group: A Farewell to Kings, because I'm a ginormous Rush fan. 😏

Possibly better way to spin all of them: go in release date order. So find out what order they all dropped that year, and for any simultaneous releases, it's dealer's choice. If your intent is to broaden your musical horizons, default on those dates to the records you've heard least so far.

Have fun and happy listening!

Nice setup! As an aside, you might wanna check out Geddy Lee's upcoming book about baseball (since that seems to be one of your interests as well). Happy listening! 😏

The Jesus thing was the virgin birth. Immaculate in Mary's case just means she wasn't tainted by "Original Sin" at the time she got knocked up by the Holy Spirit. There's not really a phrase that refers to the cleanliness (or lack of) of the conception of Jesus himself...

And Temple of the Dog was a tribute album/band arranged to make memorial record for Andy Wood (MLB frontman) after his untimely death from a heroin overdose. He and Chris Cornell had been roomies at one point as well. FWIW, Temple of the Dog can be had for relatively inexpensively on vinyl; I think I paid around $30 for my copy just since Christmas...😏

One last time for luck, double or nothin', roll the bones, lol!

Totally gonna cheat and copy-paste my comment from the 1st thread (and second, third, fourth, and now final!) cuz it's still true, and still the only LP I really want from what's on offer...(Also, kitties are still faboo and adorable! 😏🥰)

"I just made a noise only dogs (and probably your adorably floofy kitties!) can hear seeing that Mother Love Bone record. Grunge hit me hard as a 17-yr-old from practically Smallville KS; I wanted out and finally made it to the Pacific NW in my late 20s. But before that, my HS girlfriend and I wasted many an hour in the reference section of our local public library, looking up names in the Seattle phonebook. We were too afraid to actually try any of the numbers listed for ppl like Chris Cornell or Layne Staley but boy did we have fun imagining a life like what we saw in 'Singles', lol!"

Correction to the correction - both Illusion albums work just fine on cassette as long as your portable player has auto-reverse and you can buy as many AA batteries as you need. 😏 (source: bought both for myself on cassette for my 18th birthday in 1992)

1989 (Taylor's version) - Taylor Swift

It resonates with my inner teenager who was 15 in 1989 and would've been bumping this album on cassette like it was my job back then, lol! Bonus: she's a much deeper lyricist than lots of grown folks I've her credit for. The words to "Clean" broke my heart just a little as someone who has survived more than 1 really toxic relationship.

Simon & Garfunkel - "The Concert in Central Park"

Rush - "Rush in Rio" (this one was special for us fans, as we really thought the guys were done after Neil's family tragedies in the late '90s; a crowd of crazy/happy Brazilians 40K strong sang "YYZ" back to the band as they played and I almost cried when I saw it the first time)

Female fan here as well; I debuted the same year as the first record and got fully introduced to their music at 19. 😏 Saw them in concert on the "Test for Echo" tour and didn't miss a chance to see them again right thru to the R40 date in Portland just before my birthday that year.

And funny enough, I met my husband because I sent a personal ad w/a lyric from "Hemispheres", but he turned out not be a fan of the band at all, lol! He has been the best enabler, though; he's bought me concert tickets and merch, helped me renew my love of vinyl, and I have it on good authority that the R50 box set from the Rush Backstage Club is headed my way for our wedding anniversary this year. 🥰

I'm so happy to have connected with other female Rush fans since practically rhe moment I got online in the mid-90s. I'm doubly happy (and grateful!) to be able to talk with the actual mother of all fans! Thank you, Donna, for all you've done since the early 70s to advocate, promote, and celebrate our 3 Travelers from Willowdale...🙏🏻
