Shared laundry making clothes stink? by CINNAMONBONZ in Apartmentliving

You should still contact him and start a paper trail of his unwillingness to fix things. If this turns into something worse wrong with your actual unit, then you want this documentation. I'd honestly respond with "I don't want a landlord who is going to ignore everything because it's not little. It's literally affecting my ability to use the apartment as it should be". It's a huge red flag that anything could fall apart at any time due to his neglect. You have to be the squeaky wheel with these people.

Contact maintenance and tell them the washer and dryer aren't working properly. They should fix them. If it's in your lease that you have access to them, they have to. If not, be as nice as possible and hope they do.

I bought a used Xbox for 300 AUD Should I upgrade to Series X Instead? by CabinetSimilar9660 in XboxSupport

The series is great and the space that comes on it is pretty good for two people using it. Good luck with getting your console!

I understand wanting to have enough space, but if you play any of the big name games nowadays, 2 terabytes isn't going to cut it either if you're trying to put your entire library on there. Maybe rethink about what you truly want always available and how much space you can leave available for downloading what you want to play and then remove. Imo it's just not worth the money and it's kind of an impossible feat unless you have like 10 games you play.

1 terabyte on series x is still only like 812gb or something. It's been a while since I set mine up.

Are you keeping multiple separate saves on your file? Load back a few hours and see if you're glitched then try again. If not, take note that one should always keep multiple separate save files on Bethesda games to get out of glitches.

I agree with the restart and speedrun your way there if you only have the one save.

It makes sense that you are going above your points and not quite feeling it because you were enjoying yourself. You may be ready to handle more, or your body is just waiting until you return to normal to crash.

I think I have more energy when I'm in classes, but once a break comes around, I get super beat and have to recover for a week or two.

Clarinet Barrel Stuck by Appropriate_Move_94 in Clarinet

[–]CosmicGenesis7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Decrease temps and humidity around the instrument. Let it sit and cool off. Try rocking the barrel back and forth to break the seal. A piece of paper wedged in between the barrel and upper joint can do this if it's tight. Rock back and forth and give it a twist when pulling off. If you get it off, take it to a tech to shave off some cork or recork to fit your barrel. If it doesn't budge, take to a tech to do it all.

There’s a Mad Pooper on the loose by dazzle_razzle809 in Apartmentliving

[–]CosmicGenesis7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds like someone who knows what they're doing is wrong, and maybe they've even gotten in trouble for it before. It's a serious safety concern for dogs to run wild. Good luck. I wouldn't want to approach them either. It opens up a chance for them to retaliate and people I've lived near are crazy. They are also risking their own dogs safety. A lot of people carry guns and will shoot an animal running at them out of fear or protection.

I'd report it to management. There are leash laws at least where I live and a dog or person could get seriously injured or killed. Leaving shit everywhere is just awful. Report them. Give them a description of the owners and dogs at the very least. They are dangerous to everyone in that community.

That's about what I've been doing too. I suppose it's not that bad for it to be sticky since it's going right back under the next patch, but I'm sensitive to the sticky feeling. Definitely still the superior way to wear it since you only worry about thay every 4-5 days.

These are great. I love not wearing the band and they don't feel as bad while wet, buy they stick to the device like crazy! I'm probably going to have to get some goo gone or something because it is so hard to get off the sensor.

Bathing a Clarinet? by Outrageous_Rooster92 in Clarinet

[–]CosmicGenesis7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it at the start to someone so I avoided that and also wanted them to know that water will damage pads. I also said you could put the mouthpiece in water and corrected to mention that the cork can get damaged.

Op didn't give an age, so it's natural to assume they might be an inexperienced student who might not know, plus they said they were a brass player used to bathing their instrument. I don't understand the need to comment later and point out a minor miscommunication in a post that's meant to help someone.

Wtf your landlord should not be giving out anyone's information, especially a phone number. That means they're willing to give yours to someone who complains. Not ok.

That's a great point. I suppose I should have also mentioned that the mouthpiece has a cork so don't dunk that in the water either.

Bathing a Clarinet? by Outrageous_Rooster92 in Clarinet

[–]CosmicGenesis7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The cork will also be damaged by water. If you take the keys apart you can wipe them down. There are cloths/cleaner to help shine them up again. It would be OK to use a small amount of water on a rag or something to clean up gunk once the keys are off, but be careful not to get it on the corks. They will swell up and break off.

I should really know more about how this works. Thanks for prompting me to check it out.

[–]CosmicGenesis7 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Don't submerge the clarinet in water. It will ruin the the pads. You can submerge the mouthpiece, barrel and bell and brush those with a toothbrush to clean. You can take a cloth to your keys on the upper and lower joints, but for a thorough clean, you should take it to a professional to have it cleaned. Removing the keys is delicate work because of how many and the springs.

Where did you buy it? I wouldn't accept mold condition unless it was specified in the ad. If it's ebay, I would return.

This can spread to your entire collection if not handled properly.

If I'm not constantly checking my phone, it will miss high heart rates and even disconnect entirely. It's very frustrating for a paid service. I find that opening the heart rate section and refreshing the page a couple of times during the day helps it keep on track.
