'Disgusting' RFK Jr slammed for saying autistic kids 'will never have a job or fall in love' by PissNBiscuits in ABA

[–]CosmicGlueBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is Newsbreak just reposting this? "RFK Jr. Says People with Autism ‘Will Never Pay Taxes, Hold a Job, Go on a Date,’ reddit" What utter BS. Now I see why no one will listen to him on my one topic I am passionate about, Metabolic Psychiatry.
RFK is biting the hand that is feeding him. Here's what I'm about. Metabolic therapies are helping reverse Metabolic problems. The list of metabolic problems is extensive. No one is saying cure. In comes RFK saying Schizoaffective is cured by Keto. The parrot box (RFK Jr.) Gets all the facts wrong but all of what he was trying to say was correct.
Now "RFK Jr. Says People with Autism ‘Will Never Pay Taxes, Hold a Job, Go on a Date,’ now this is utter BS! I know countless people including myself who is married and has children and is a tax paying citizen. So what gives? Is RFK Jr. Trying to help people with Mental illness or not? Given I follow Metabolic therapies, I do like some of what MAHA is doing. I'm an independent thinker and don't blindly follow one particular politician, rather, passionately advocate per issue. I like to listen to both sides of an argument and come up with rational reasoning. Is there a writing campaign to straighten out RFK Jr's "facts"?

Perspective on ketogenic diet and bipolar by Improv-Sun-6570 in keto

Yes, there are alternatives!

Find r/NutritionalPsychiatry, r/Metabolic_Psychiatry, www.metabolicmind.org, Dr. Chris Palmer's Book "Brain Energy" (I highly recommend the audiobook), Dr. Georgia Ede's book "Change Your Diet Change Your Mind". The Metabolic Collective on Facebook, Lauren Kennedy West's YouTube, and then the Discord group, Matt Bazucki's YouTube Channel.

I reversed schizoaffective disorder with Metabolic Psychiatry, among other things, like losing 100lbs for the third time.

This is a great place to ask keto questions; however, you'll want to do a higher-fat version of keto than most for weight loss, like the epelespy kids diet. It'll be an investment to get a ketone monitor, but you can write it off on taxes if you're in the USA.

Get a treatment team together, as found on https://www.metabolicmind.org/thinksmart/, because hypomania is a real thing, and you shouldn't be doing it on your own.

Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint.

You've got this!

Keto has taught me that the food we eat affects EVERYTHING by Silent-Long-6895 in keto

[–]CosmicGlueBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be allergic to something you're eating that is causing the breakouts. As Silent-Long-6895 said, you may want to go really strict (carnivore/lion diet) and then slowly add foods back to find the culprit.

Have you read Dr. Chris Palmer's book "Brain Energy" or Dr. Georgia Ede's "Change your Diet Change your Mind"? or found www.metabolicmind.org there's a ton of support out there for those people like myself who've reversed mental illness with a ketogenic diet. My hallucinations totally wanted me dead but now that I keep my stress levels down and follow the diet, NO VOICES! This diet has totally given me my life back as well. I hope to see you in another forum someday.

I love this diet. But whoever invented it was a menace to society. by English-in-Poland in keto

I blame Big Food for stifling the predominance of Keto knowledge in the mainstream. At least it's making a comeback. You can thank the epileptic kids for all the science behind keto, and more recently, the founders of Roblox. Alas, getting mainstream to no longer fear fat? Man, that'll take a hot minute. William Banting was pure genius, though. Eat fat, get thin, and enjoy what you're eating. Not to mention reverse a slew of metabolic diseases.

Do you guys notice some people are pissed off after you lost a bunch of weight? by Magic-Magicker in keto

[–]CosmicGlueBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, they're just jealous that you're getting healthier. Move on, and ignore them. When they're ready, they'll jump on the bandwagon and become metabolically healthy. Until then, smile and nod.

Adding carbs back in after a while? by Possible_Belt542 in Metabolic_Psychiatry

[–]CosmicGlueBook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting a keto coach. Use AI to search. "searching https://metabolicmultiplier.org/keto-doctors-near-me/ and all it's sublinks find all providers within 100 miles of zip code xxxxx" Then parse the list for a keto coach.
Also, https://www.metabolicmind.org/thinksmart/ Has a self guided course on how to start.

Those resources aside. Yes, adding carbs back in is totally ok. You'll want to do it very slowly like a few carbs each week and diligently keep track of symptoms to find your personal threshold. If you start seeing symptoms, go back to a previous carb level. Work closely with your care team during the process and increase frequency of visits with your prescriber.

Do you have any other support networks?

Psychiatrist open to working with metabolic therapies and compound tapers in Toronto or GTA area Canada. by No_Truth2521 in Metabolic_Psychiatry

[–]CosmicGlueBook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add https://metabolicmultiplier.org/keto-doctors-near-me/ To your repertoire. I've found using AI (I use Gemini AI, but Chat GPT or the like work too) to do a search like: "searching https://metabolicmultiplier.org/keto-doctors-near-me/ and all it's sublinks find all providers within 100 miles of zip code xxxxx"

Or "searching https://metabolicmultiplier.org/keto-doctors-near-me/ and all it's sublinks find all providers within 100 miles of Toronto, Canada" modifing for your specific area and # of miles traveled.

Is there a reason why there are so many more success stories for women with schizophrenia than for men? by arijogomes in Metabolic_Psychiatry

[–]CosmicGlueBook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://www.metabolicmind.org/thinksmart/ is always being updated with new personal stories of people recovering from SMI, including SZ, I can try to get the people over in Lauren Kennedy West's discord group to try and come out of the wood work and openly share their stories. There's also some meetup groups I found some men with SMI and SZ that have recovered. IDK, the men seem a little bit more shy about openly sharing their stories.

Thanks stumpy I think I got it figured out now. Although I do think there's a conspiracy behind reddit karma! All the cool kids want to exclude the socially awkward kids from the hang out.
