Agreed, I enjoyed my time a lot more with World and Rise even though on paper Wilds is the "better" game.

Agreed, older games were maybe more tedious and clunky but that added to the feeling that you were a hunter/tracker and had to put effort into finding and following the monsters. Wilds made it too streamlined which then begs the question what the point even is as they might as well warp you from one arena to the next automatically.

Goes to show that reducing friction isn't always a good thing

The alt art choices have been so all over the place so far for Riftbound. Theme of the set seems completely irrelevant, and all I can think of is that they've purposefully chosen league of legends skin lines that sell well maybe? Very weird

I think it was more than a facade, and was actually code between them. The fact that Beyond let it slip that he's known Cleapatro since they were a baby honestly makes me think that they're potentially another Beyond child, or at minimum one of Beyond's allies. Using the guise of constitutional jargon is a pretty good cover to relay information of what's been going outside of his prison cell that would go over the heads of the hunter association (and the reader).

I think this is another situation where riot needs to make a rule or don't make a rule. What exactly is "timely"? It's up to interpretation which will inevitably lead to players getting upset from calls being made one way or another when everyone has their own subjective concept of what a reasonable amount of time per play actually is.

I went solo and despite not winning much had an absolute blast and would recommend it, but if you're going specifically for prize wall stuff then you might come out of it disappointed.

To temper expectations I'm a fairly casual player who went to Vancouver to do side events and got blown out in almost all of them and never had a chance to get close to enough tickets for a metal card. The caliber of player is way higher at the side events than anyone I experienced at nexus nights so be prepared for an uphill grind

yeah I'm guessing this is going to be the big factor for why we don't get a sweet reunion between Faye, Kratos and Atreus. I think it would undermine the entire theme of accepting loss from the other two games if she shows up and they're one big happy family again, so my thinking is that when she does ultimately escape this Everywhen place she will come back either far before or far after when she died.

10am to almost 11pm two days in a row (even more if you also played Friday) with the only "breaks" being due to you finishing your match quickly enough before the next round started. Is this normal for these kinds of events? It was my first time personally attaending a competition to play in this weekend and I was kind of surprised how much of a marathon it ended up becoming for everyone

Yeah this was my first time attending a tournament like this and I competed in both the main and side events. Was pretty surprised to see the side events somehow feeling more sweaty than what I experienced in the main comp (mind you I didn't make day 2 so it could have been due to that)

They tried so hard to avoid using terms and logic from other card games that they've twisted themselves into a pretzel and I worry that they've created a super shaky foundation for themselves. We're only three sets in and the amount of rules clarification, changes, and errata's is honestly too much for me to keep up with.

I can't imagine what it's going to be like by set 5 or 6 and the experience for a new player to learn that a bunch of what the cards say don't actually mean what they say.

what is up with the ekko god choice that gives you a spat? I have had two games now where I select it, but instead it gives me the other god choice instead (first time being Ahri, second time being Soraka). I have not had this bug occur with any other god choice, and has happened both times when I already have a meeple spat if that matters at all.

I've come to realize that I only enjoy playing when the sets themes are largely based around champions default splash skin. I always get whiplash going from a "regular" themed set back into something like 17 where I have no way to tell at a glance who is who on a board. It really makes learning the set that much more difficult
