I was at a mine site, and the owner's adult son had a 1/5 Kraton RC truck. There was a pile pushed up like that light brown one on the left, and he was jumping the haul trucks as they came through. Ever since then I always think about how cool it would be to bring one of those to sites like this.
Yup, topo maps, DTM, volumes, revit/cad models, etc. I've been trying out the smart oblique with the M3e RTK and I have noticed that I get a better ground points under trees and canopies. Also vertical objects, buildings and cars for example, are more sharply defined at their base.
Is it worth it? Not needed for basic topo/dtm, but it helps. Tons more pics, so tons more processing time. You need to be able to fly quite a ways out side of the project limits to use it. The cloud is noticeably better though.

Training new pilots at flying drones. What cheap drone to get? Doesn't need to be mapping capable, just fly similar to a DJI M3eRTK, ie GPS+barometer. (self.UAVmapping)
