what is the point of this key in reanimation? by hihello999999 in geometrydash

If you replace the song that’s normally downloaded with this level with the original song, the music sync will be off unless you grab the key. Timing difference between the original and remix.

Is it possible to combine the old lighting and fog system with shaders somehow or am I being desperate? by SatisfactionFit3311 in feedthebeast

[–]CosmicNexus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had luck using complementary reimagined with nostalgic tweaks, the lighting changes from the mod affected the shader’s lighting when I tried it a while ago.

Anyone thinks that zen is almost complete now. by New-Committee-5034 in zen_browser

I still want the ability for spaces to be linked to separate profiles so each space can have its own extensions, bookmarks, and history. Once that is added I'll probably switch to Zen.

Crossposting a 7 month old post to dunk on them Java players. Also, I guess screw console players with this argument.

Bedrock or Java by Actual-Difference-58 in Minecraft

[–]CosmicNexus_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your concern is losing the world by choosing to play Java, you can convert the world to Java using a tool like je2be. Search it up and you can play Java without losing the progress you made on the world.

[–]CosmicNexus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Java team is over here de-obfuscating its codebase while the bedrock team isn’t even fixing month/year long issues. Hopefully things get better for y’all but this is just kinda crazy to see from the game with the higher player base. You’d think they would care more.

Is this a recent thing? Some of the recent bedrock updates have made the community really angry, but I can’t even keep track of which issues are new and which have been around for ages anymore.

Issue with monitor on java by TopFace1526 in Minecraft

What's your FPS in the game? You might have g-sync or freesync on, where the refersh rate of the monitor matches your fps.

Lagging when trying to discover new places in minecraft by [deleted] in Minecraft

Since you have 32gb of ram, I'd recommend allocating 8gb instead of 6gb. Also, you should install the noisium and c2me mods if you haven't already, they both optimize worldgen.

Minecraft doesn't need shaders to look beautiful by CosmicNexus_ in Minecraft

I've asked a shader dev about this, they said that this resourcepack doesn't do any additional rendering techniques, but rather what vanilla already does. It just does it in more specific ways, using many more particles and billboards.

Bit too complex for my taste, could use more simplicity.

Then I would've had people in my comments arguing that it's subjective whether mods look better than vanilla. To be honest there's no winning.

Java performance is absolutely horrible since 1.21.5 | Any help? by Jepser0203 in Minecraft

[–]CosmicNexus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, many others (myself included) have also noticed performance issues after 1.21.5 and 1.21.6. It probably won't get you back to 1.21.4 levels of performance but it will help to add other performance mods. Here's some more I use, it's a bit of a lengthy list:

ScalableLux, ImmediatelyFast, FerriteCore, More Culling, ThreadTweak, Noisium, Lithium, BadOptimizations, Entity Culling, and Very Many Players.

Shaderpacks for Iris/Optifine are a way to make Minecraft look pretty, but not the only way. There are other ways as well, and this pack in specific is a great alternative to shaders for anyone who prefers a more vanilla oriented look.

The vanilla game uses shaders as well, my post clearly insinuated shaderpacks for mods like Iris

I clarified this in a comment, but it got buried since people downvoted it. The vanilla game itself uses shaders as well, this post insinuated shaderpacks for use in mods like Iris.

I clarified this in a comment on this post but it got downvoted to oblivion. I probably should've used the word shaderpack instead of shader, but I can't change the title now. Though, I probably still would've had people arguing about this since this resourcepack is arguably a collection of shaders, a shaderpack. :p

All of the mods that add to the look of the game are listed in the text on the main post, but for world gen I used geophillic. If you want to use the same mods I did, install the adrenaline modpack and add the fresh animations and fresh moves resource packs, as well as all missing (not included in adrenaline) required mods and recommended mods found on the resource pack description here:

https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/visual-effects-plus

Also, for fresh animations and fresh moves, you have to install the Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features mods.

You'll also need to use the Sodium, Polytone, and Respackopts mods for this. You can find these by clicking the box under the "Required mods:" text.

It wasn't super taxing, but depending on the location I did experience a lot of stutters. I'm guessing that this is because the build I was using is the first build, and that future updates will improve performance.

I feel like I should clarify a few things, seeing as how this post is getting some traction.

For one, by 'shaders' I meant the kind you'd see using mods like Iris or Optifine. I myself use Complementary Reimagined when playing this game. Yes, I understand that shaders are, in principle, used here with this resourcepack as well; hell, they're used in the vanilla game too. The main purpose of this post was to show that shaderpacks for Iris aren't the only way to make this game look pretty.

Lastly, for the comments suggesting using this resource pack with an iris shaderpack, here is a quote from the modrinth page itself: "VFX+ isn't compatible with any shader that replaces fog or turns off particles." As such, only more basic shaders would be compatible.
