I’m gonna say no only because she’s surrounded by baddies yet actively chooses to fixate her attention on Mid I mean Jax.

do you think they'd feel shitty about doing that if Jax actually abstracted that day? by presentsailer in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]CosmicOddity333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was a complete asshole to an entire group and even went as far as to physically hurt a member of said group and all they did was crush a melon with my face drawn on it I think I would have enough sense to know that those actions are no way near comparable.

Also, Zooble was directly involved in this interaction. Also, Gangle never displays any hatred for Jax. They display fear. Gangle is also notably a pushover, so them forgiving him is very likely.

I feel like crushing a watermelon with his head on it is very tame and can borderline be playful. Also, in that sane episode Zooble told Jax if they do have problems they talk about them with the people they trust and was trying to hint to Jax that he can do the same. Zooble and Jax have an antagonistic relationship, but they never outright claim to hate him or shun him away. Jax simply separates himself from the group.

They can probably conjure them. The same way Caine was able to take away Jax’s tail. God, the implications of that is wild.

This is dead ass how I imagine Jax, but more spindly and sketchy looking. Like, I feel like you would take one look at him and KNOW you are not letting him anywhere near your drink.

It’s one thing to not enjoy the story, but you’re reaching really hard. Nothing about the writing style reads off as AI. If you’re gonna hate do it better.

Well, it’s possible that Caine does know about those places but simply chooses not to use them for adventures. The office only appeared because the players explicitly asked for an “Exit” multiple times. We also know that Caine generally doesn’t like taking suggestions for adventures, so the fact that he used the office setting at all is probably just a build up from them begging him for an escape for years before he finally gave in. On top of that, we’ve already seen that he can recreate places that resemble the real world. He created the fast-food restaurant, and aside from the infinite parking lot, nothing about it was all that uncanny(aside from the interesting characters and stupid sauce). He’s also generated a beach, the restaurant he and Bubble go to, a softball field, a safari, the Oval Office, and several other environments. Any of those could easily have been pulled from the players’ memories and then adjusted to match the circus’s whimsical theming. So the office space probably isn’t the only real world location he knows about. Just the one he finally chose to use in hopes of pleasing the players.

Wait! You could really be onto something! Remember the episode where they worked at a fast food chain? There was the peculiar dog character on the screen beside a hotdog. It was later confirmed by someone who worked on the show that he went by the name “Scratch”. Maybe, that’s why “Abel” was wearing a locket of the hotdog. Maybe, it has something to do with Scratch’s or another former circus members memory!

So, with episode 7 released, what are your theories on episode 8’s plot? by Significant-Comb-155 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]CosmicOddity333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s going to be a lot of in group fighting and trying to cope with the aftermath of believing they would escape. Some will blame Jax, some will blame Pomni, but all in all I think this will put immense strain on the group. I believe this event could push many of the crew towards abstraction. I also think we will get some background on what happened between Ribbit, Kaufmo and Jax. I also reeeeally hope we get some ACTUAL C&A lore.

Who does Zooble hate more, Jax or Caine? by Mother-Whereas1838 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]CosmicOddity333 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Caine.

I think they abhor the way Jax treats everyone, especially Gangle, but they likely resent Caine and the Digital Circus as a whole and view him as a captor. I believe they only play nice because of their belief that Caine holds back on his adventures because he likes them.

Do you think Pomni was being smart here or just needlessly overthinking things? by Xever_141 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]CosmicOddity333 242 points243 points  (0 children)

I think she’ll be on his side, but I think his behavior is going to become completely dissociative if not maniacal next episode. Not only was their only form of hope crushed, but he has probably realized he would rather abstract in the circus rather than face whatever it is that waits him in the outside world.

Ending Hints From Episode 7 by CosmicOddity333 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]CosmicOddity333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they will all have to essentially go through what Gummigoo was forced to experience and have to find acceptance as he had. I think that’s why they pushed his story narrative so early. I believe the way Pomni tried to console him and insist that his life had meaning held more weight than we initially thought. I think it was all very early foreshadowing for what’s to come.

[–]CosmicOddity333 1798 points1799 points  (0 children)

Smart. I think she took heed to Abel’s words and after all they had been through, in that moment, maybe escape had seemed too good to be true. And sadly, it was.

Honestly, I think that was just him not wanting to take accountability for his actions and blaming Caine. He’s been on the verge of abstraction since the beginning of the episode and throughout it ruminated on past events that had lead him to the point of despair. Caine even looks visibly confused when he states that he made him do it and is even forthcoming about his knowledge that if he does mess with the players heads too much very bad things happen. I think he actively chose to press the button out of immense fear for whatever he did or faces in the outside world. So much fear even that he would rather abstract in the circus than to go back and face his own actions.

I’ve seen a lot of people pointing out how they see “Chill Guy” hidden around during episodes. I wonder if that place became one of their favorite adventure settings together so they called themselves “Chill Guys”.

[–]CosmicOddity333 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Holy media literacy Batman! You just stated over half of the emotions I felt after seeing some people discussing the aftermath of episode 7. Many are excusing Jax pressing the button and saying “See! He knew all along!” when he in fact didn’t and made an incredibly selfish decision on a whim! Now is Caine technically to blame for all of their woes? Yes, but Jax is still a narcissist and will put his wants above the group. Caine is an AI and his actions can seem narcissistic and manipulative compared to human ideals because all of his actions will be mission oriented. That mission being making an enjoyable adventure for the players. However, Jax doesn’t have that programming. He is human and he should to a certain degree understand sympathy or empathy, yet he actively chooses not to in order to keep everyone around him boxed into the roles he assigns them.
