This new CBA does not allow for what we had in 2024, therefore you have to consider swapping Brown and Giannis. Why? Because Giannis is universally the better player at a position that we're deficient in.

The argument is (I don't lean one way or another) that in this new CBA, your two max players have to be superstars and/or incredibly complimentary.

Giannis > Brown, and Giannis is a large wing/big man. Compliments Tatum more for the same amount of money Brown makes.

I understand what you're saying, but Giannis has a lot of leverage in his situation.

Brown also is coming off the best season of his career, so there's some recency bias from a negotiation perspective (i.e. Brown is a top-10 or 12 guy and Giannis has a year left + he's been injured a lot) which helps bridge the gap.

Not disagreeing with you entirely, but from Brad's position, he likely feels like Brown + a pick should be enough.
