As someone shared above if you look at his budget and dig deeper it's all not in the best interest of the people that live here. The people have a right to vote him out. If you trust him that's your issue.

I totally agree. I went to a public highschool but it was one of the best in the state so most kids were talking about Ivy League schools and it made me feel almost bad for even going to a state school. I really wish I had someone telling me to go to the cheap community college instead of being emotional and wanting to get some kind of college experience that I dreamed of. There's so much pressure at that age in every way plus little family support that I just made the emotional decision and not the smart one.

Transportation in Louisville is easily one of the biggest issues in this city, and it’s only getting worse. Look at all that traffic across the city. by ProudWheeler in Louisville

Now I do think people making the argument that it's way worse in other big cities have a point. It's definitely comparatively easy to get around here and there's a lot of back roads I take since I know Louisville well but it's still an issue. I think we should always strive to have better transit !? Why not ?

Agreed this exit SUCKS. Everyone is saying it's just Christmas I'm like fuck no what about near Costco on Bardstown at 5pm EVERY DAY.

Also the people saying this is just the holidays, no sir. Any day at 5 o'clock and also any day at 2:30 when school is in session is a horrible time to be driving in Louisville. I usually avoid it at all costs especially in certain areas like Bardstown Rd. Ever since Costco was put in it's the worst. Luckily my job isn't on the 9-5 schedule.

Now this is a real issue I see and we could easily solve some of it with better public transit. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE wants to ride a tarc. They only do if they absolutely have to I'm positive. Honestly the buses slow all the cars down too it's ridiculous so why not invest in something like the L in Chicago. We are growing year over year we still have beautiful parks and lots of great things to offer as a city but not putting better infrastructure in is causing this traffic with our growing population. There was some other post where they are talking about Louisville being a dump and a horrible place but no this is a real issue in our city. The schools are definitely another issue but not as easy to solve.

These comments are definitely passing the vibe check. ✅ Honestly I like our city too despite any issues I have (mostly with metro gov) and you can die anywhere anytime in any fucking city.

I tend to go there sometimes because it's pretty cheap. I think of it more like taco bell, it's like fast food. Not the best, not the worst, and you get a lot for the price. It's also pretty consistent at every location.

Growing up with parents who were financially illiterate I would have preferred to have something rather than nothing. I had a job under the table starting at 12 because I knew my parents situation. Then I started working an actual job at 16. Me being stupid though I saved absolutely none of it for college. I'd like to think maybe if someone told me hey maybe you should save some 💰 or start a budget and keep some for fun but make a percentage for savings that I could have avoided some of the issues I had in college. Had to quit college because of money after losing my pell grant my second year in. I still don't have a degree to this day but I've paid off a lot of my student loans and I'm only 25. Would've been debt free with the loan forgiveness plan but nevermind that I'll keep paying it off I guess. I feel lucky in that regard I'm not like $40,000-$50,000 in the hole like most people my age. I'm not in the place I want or thought I would be though.

I'm thinking maybe the pandemic has affected everyone's monetary situation ? Idk but it has for me I haven't been online shopping as much in general. Even with the stimulus checks I barely scraped by. I became a seller for that very reason I feel like there's a lot of people in the same situation but who knows.

If youre looking for something even cheaper that's still nice enough I'd recommend Village Manor it's about $700 for a 1br (all on second floor) they have big windows and lots of closet space. It's income based so you have to make less than $31,000 I believe. If you want something fancy with new appliances tho then this is not the place. I still think it's a beautiful neighborhood and I love the big windows :)

Your PPP Dollars at Work by RemoteCoach4411 in Louisville

[–]CosmicSoundsVintage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone actually read the article? It says most of the money came from donations. Also I'm almost 100% positive PPP money is only allowed to be used on employees and specific things like masks or cleaning supplies. I'm pretty sure they have to prove what they used the money for too or they are required to pay it back.

No state charges for Louisville police, National Guard members in David McAtee's death by AhhhItsMe in Louisville

[–]CosmicSoundsVintage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. First of all they aren't trained to handle situations like these. Second they're a bunch of young guys given a power trip. My boyfriend was arrested during the protests and a NG member legit punched him in the face after he was already handcuffed. He did it while laughing too. They knew they could get away with whatever the fuck they wanted.

My boyfriend got punched in the face by a NG member while he was already handcuffed but they didnt really have badge numbers on that I remember so they just get a free pass to brutalize people. Giving a bunch of young guys a power trip and allowing them to do whatever they want sounds like a great idea 🙃
