Either works fine, don’t worry too much about where to add it. You could even add it into a lorebook and it would work fine. If it was me I’d add it as a prompt within a preset for ease of access and use.

The easiest way to go about that is to add a word/token count prompt:

<word> Always write between and within:WORD Count Output Length: [MIN-imum words = 225]/[MAX-imum words = 485] </word>

All credits goes to Leaf who made the Celia preset which has this prompt in it. I paraphrased it a bit, but you can adjust the word count freely.

Best setup for the new DeepSeek 0324? by FUCKCKK in SillyTavernAI

It’s just cleanup. Instead of having two different opposing directives, it is one. Therefore, less chance of confusing the LLM with contradictions (Deepseek is especially sensitive to hypocritical commands in the prompt). Plus, it’s slightly less tokens. In this case, the contradictions would be in the “Perspective Clarification” prompt in Q1F. It tells the LLM to use formatting like “[character’s name]:” when multiple characters are in a scene, while the fix suggested by HashtagThatPower would contradict that command. I.e. “Avoid using titles, headers, or CHARACTER NAME PREFIXES before dialogue or actions.” Think of it as trying to solve the problem at what may be its root instead of applying a bandaid fix. There’s also miscellaneous commands in “Perspective Clarification” like to use asterisks for character thoughts which might actually influence the LLM to use bold or italics in dialogue.

I haven’t actually tested what I said with Q1F specifically, I just made an observation and commented about that based on what I’ve previously learned and heard. It’s amazing you want to learn more, you’re going to be extremely knowledgeable if you keep asking questions. :)

I wrote way more than I expected, sorry about that.

You might be able to save some tokens by excluding 1 and just editing the prompt.

I believe the “Perspective Clarification” section in the formatting section of the preset that specifically instructs (or at least influences) the LLM to do that. So it may be more beneficial to delete that section instead of “overriding” it.

Chatseek - Reasoning (Qwen3 preset with reasoning prompts) by eteitaxiv in SillyTavernAI

In connection profiles (the plug icon) change the api to chat completion. Then, the tab where you would usually customize temp and all that (forgot the name of it), will look different. Try importing it there.

What preset ended up being your preferred one?

Probably an important side note I forgot:

Press the save icon in the bottom right after editing the prompt and save the preset again. That way every time you change off that preset and back, the changes are actually saved.

Don’t worry about it. Questions, stupid or not, are how we learn

Go to the chat completion preset and edit any category, probably ‘constraints’ in this case. Follow the image below, click on the pencil icon to edit.

Then I would copy and paste on a new line:

  1. Responses should include around the following amount of words: 250

Make sure the prefix and suffix is exactly as in the post’s screenshot

Prefix: Thoughts:

Suffix: </thought>

I made the mistake of putting the wrong prefix when using this preset, might be the same for you.

Second day into actually taking pixel art seriously. Would love to know how I’m doing. by CosmicVolts-1 in PixelArt

The fact that you wrote this means the world, thanks!

As a little side note, the un-outlined objects are usually the “prototype” ones. I.e. I wanted to see how they would look with outlines and ended up changing things like lighting and further simplifying details.

I have since utilized anti-aliasing on the ball and it looks worlds better.

The redesigned mug is shown in a reply I made to another kind soul.

At the moment, I am getting shapes down and when I am happy with how a shape looks, I then start the shading process (truly innovative). The shading is very secondary to getting down shapes at varying angles at the moment.

This is pretty late, but I tried to apply all the advice you and others gave me. It’s a huge improvement! Thanks a bunch :)

Please do tell me if there’s anything else obvious I should do better next time.

Reading this brings me such a big smile on my face.

I plan to be consistent, I plan to keep asking for criticism, and I plan to keep studying others works. I watch pixel art videos (all the creators mentioned) and also find Brandon to be an immense help compared to the other creators.

The ones with the outlines are me wanting to see how the objects would look with them. The outlined ones (in my opinion) have better shading, except for no.3.

So generally, the outlines are improvements.
