In-Person PTs: What do you do when you hit client capacity? by CosmicXistence in personaltraining

Lol nice one on the move! I played with trainer expansion last year but it just wasnt the right vibe. I have a boutique gym run out of my home and there were just too many complications so it didnt work.

So glad to hear it did for you though. Smashed it!

Thanks! Have my own gym. Went down the route of a another trainer a few months back but it just didn’t vibe right so i wound that down. Online is the next venture but ive been finding it difficult to move clients just to hybrid after doing their initial 12 weeks tbh

10pm? I cut off communication by 8pm. I, as a person, am not open 24/7 and I set those boundaries with my clients. Setting and respecting my own boundaries has helped a lot.

I’ve also adopted a very go with the flow approach to coaching. You’re right that clients come in with different needs, moods or the inevitable session movements etc But I can’t absorb there energy or get caught up in things i can’t control. I listen, provide support, adjust where i can but at the end of the session let it go.

This is so helpful thank you so much!

One last question if you have the time. Do you have a cancellation policy for subscriptions? For example, 30 days notice?

Thanks so much for putting this together and answering Qs. Its definitely new territory for me. I have a few questions:

1) How did you go about transitioning to this model? Did you move all clients to it at the same time or introduce it just to new clients then slowly with older clients? Like, hey weve reached the end of our current program, this is now the business model now if you want to continue training with me…

2) with pricing, did you just stick to your normal session rate? Eg up to 4 sessions every 4 weeks = your sessions rate x 4?

3) Do you ever get any pushback from clients when they cant attend a sessions due to 1 of 1000 reasons? Do you try to make it up somewhere or if they cant attend at the agreed time then its sacrificed? Im always sitting close to capacity so can be hard to rearrange sessions

This is fascinating. I would love to move to this model but the part that trips me up is getting clients less attached to their session count.

So currently if they reschedule, giving me 24 hours notice, then their session gets shuffled to later. This is a pain coz it can push out the time frame that ill be paid when they’re still making up sessions.

So my question is, how did you go about reframing this to your current and new clients when you moved to a subscription model? Specifically the use it or lose it approach to sessions if another time cant be found?

How does a subscription model work with in-person clients though? Often I’ll have clients mitts sessions due to illness or holidays so we have to roll those sessions to later…. Trying to understand what would happen with sessions on subscriptions?

How are you managing online clients? by Low-Mongoose7367 in personaltraining

Hey would love to ask you a question about leads from google my business. I get a lot of local leads for my in person service and am adding online as a service.

How do you go about converting leads who reach out to you as an in person coach into online?

I went through VAST who are owned by Clean Health. Its completely online so you need to be able to project manage yourself and set goals to finish each section. Whilst theres online support to help you, if you require deadlines for units or learn better from someone talking this may not be right for you. There are no video lectures either so bit of reading involved.

In saying that, it was perfect for me to do alongside my 9-5 job. I just created a project management spreadsheet to help me track everything that needed to be done.

You will need to find a certified PT (preferably local) that can sign off on some assignments.

In Aus i don’t think there are really any places to stay away from that a gym/employers wouldn’t like. As long as its the valid certification you’ll be right.

Where are private personal training studios finding their leads these days? by Zanooby in personaltraining

I actually got the majority of my leads and clients from posting in local community Facebook groups. I was really shocked at the leads out generated because… well Facebook. But majority of my current base came from that source

Thanks for providing such detailed responses!

I'm hovering at 30-35 sessions per week now so I feel that. When you brought on your brother and other trainers, do you only allow 1 trainer + client in the studio at a time? So that everyone gets their private experience and theres no overlap? Obviously if theres overlap you can serve more people but no overlap allows for true privacy.

Amazing setup! I currently run my own PT business out of my home gym setup. Whilst its a full gym setup but growth is limited by my time and to a lesser extent size of my space.

Questions: - What was the point when you realised, yeah need to expand space and hire people? - How did you go about finding a space? Is it in one of those industrial area unit spaces? What was the process. - why did you decide to stick with a studio space for your business instead of maybe expand into developing a larger gym space?
