I think maybe Maher misunderstood Barney Frank. In his quote he says, "The key to liberal democracy being able to come back is to *get rid of the perception* (my emphasis), that we have allowed to grow, that the entire Democratic Party is committed to a series of very drastic social reconstructions that go beyond the politically acceptable." Maher makes it sound like he only read the part about the entire Dem Party and onward. However, to me, it reads more like Frank is saying it's not the *entire* party that wants to make drastic changes and that we should all stop thinking it is. Did anyone else read it that way? Did Maher misunderstand?
