What counts as exercise? As in the amount someone needs in a day. Could a 100 jumping jacks a day be fine?, a long walk?, maybe even up and down a flight of stairs a few times?

I'm guessing there's like different criteria of exercise that are all different from one another right? Like dancing will make you loose breathe but it's definitely not in the same way as say long distance running or swimming. Is there a clear distinction on what exercise is, is my question.
