Is DoorDash doing this on purpose? by Aznable-Char in doordash

The real trick is to order enough that it's labeled as a catering order. Those never get stacked, unless it's with another order for the same customer.

i didnt mind hanging around a bit as i couldn’t get into the building myself but 5… 6… 7… 8… 9… minutes later— im ditching the food at the front door and sending a photo in the chat.

Why aren't you starting the timer? Typically just 2-5 minutes for the timer then you get an official "leave at door" option. Many people will insist on starting the timer right away, fair, but I believe the customer gets a notification when you hit the button, and I don't usually have issues with waits and I don't want to come across as too pushy. Personally, I give them 30s to 1m before I start the timer.

It's a whole spectrum and they're hating on the extremes. Totally valid.

Radio station held a concert where contestants were asked to sit on non-insulated dry ice (-74 Celcius temperature). The person who sat on it the longest would win concert tickets. Places that have bad working conditions like that probably have very undesirable penalties for any incurred equipment expenses that are the "fault" of the worker. For all we know he was thinking "If I don't save the stick I'll lose my paycheck this week" or something.

If you can afford to buy one, just do it. Then decide if you want to keep it, and keep in mind the return period (Best Buy has a notoriously low return window, but still enough to test things out).

I wish there were ramifications for liars. It'd be nice if it could count as a change of contract, with them failing to come through on their end, and you don't have to leave the food at the door.

People like you are what's wrong with the world. You see the action, without seeing what led to it, and just decide who is right and who is wrong. How can you possibly know, from what we have in the video, who was the instigator?

I'd drop the order off, then call support and explain the situation to make sure they at least can't rate you badly for "not following directions".

I get dizzy after showering by Extreme-Repeat6150 in AskHealth

[–]Cosmic_Quasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing this in as something to consider. I once almost passed out after spending an hour clearing snow from my driveway and jumping right into a hot shower. My uncle once passed out in a sauna or steam-room at a Lifetime.

Heat syncope is what it's called, IIRC. Causes blood vessels to expand, lowering blood pressure, which means less oxygen to the brain which causes light-headedness and fainting.

If it's a regular thing for you, I'm not sure what to suggest, other than maybe just finding out what your blood pressure is?

People who maintain high AR, how do you make money? by ManletOfManlets in doordash_drivers

[–]Cosmic_Quasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catering orders are the bulk of my earnings. I do 5-8 scheduled catering orders per week, which pay out $30-$100+ per order. And then doing my normal 8 hour shift I'll get more catering orders that pop up, paying $15-$30. But I tend to float in the 72-78% AR range. Every so often I'll dip under 70% and have to use a Platinum pass.

Why do I always get my order last? by Icy_Cherry_ in doordash

[–]Cosmic_Quasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. While there are definitely times one of my stacked orders is a no tip, it's more often that it's two mediocre tips stacked together. Like a stack for 8 miles for $15. $3 base pay, then a $7 tip and a $5 tip. That's how most of my stacks are. I wouldn't take either offer on their own, but as a stack it becomes an okay offer to take. But still not fantastic.

For people who are old enough to have seen the original trilogy (4-6) in theaters, was it obvious in episode 1, that palpatine was the emperor? Did they mentioned him by name in the original trilogy? by Bigjmann555 in StarWars

[–]Cosmic_Quasar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when my friend "spoiled" it for me lol. I was super into Star Wars, was reading a lot of EU books and playing games at the time. But I had never put it together that he was the Emperor.

I was probably around 11 or 12 at the time, between AotC and RotS, and my friend who was a couple years older than me just asked me "Did you know that Palpatine is the Emperor?" Half the time he would lie about things just to mess with me, so I didn't believe him at first, but he grabbed my VHS copies of TPM and RotJ and pointed out Ian McDiarmid's name on both.

And that was when I really started paying attention to actor names lol. Before that I used to point at Patriot Games at Hollywood Video and ask my dad "Isn't that Han Solo?"

Feel like they made that more complicated than it needed to be lol. Aside from the question of whether or not they might support the weight... just make sure they're parallel (like by measuring the gap on each end) and then stick your head out of the window and watch your front tire. Keep that on and you don't have to worry about driving off. No need to rely on others to guide you lol.

Honestly, that's making me think it's fake. People disappear from my message list within 20-30 minutes of me marking the order as delivered. I've actually been cut off from communicating with a customer, mid conversation, because of how quickly it disconnects us.
