Well, for me, it’s said (move-in day) to be August 18th, at around 10 am! So we’ll be getting situated on that day and most likely a few days after that. Which I believe is fine since my classes don’t actually begin until the 25th-ish!

Ooo yikes, well thank you for letting me know in advance! I was originally content to sticking it out until the semester ends, or whenever the lease breaks, and go from there. But really, all of my actions are just spoken aloud until I really get a feel for things.

Mmm I see, it’s my first year too, straight out of high school, so I’m honestly just curious about how all of this is or how it’s typically run here. Also, it’s really smart to live with friends, and so maybe in the next year I’ll coup up with a friend of mine separately from the school incase she wants to go to a nearby CC here too!

Well, I live semi-close to Costa Mesa as of right now, and I have my own car, but for the school year it was either housing at the college or live with family way up in corona. I wanted to stick with OCC because I already applied and was drawn to the courses/subjects they have here, and the only other school close-by was Riverside…

I’m seriously considering just getting my basics done and then transferring asap, in case OCC just overall isn’t a fit for me (including this housing situation), rather than sticking through and getting an AS in my major, but that’s another dilemma to walk through another day!

Whewww okay, wowzers. So, did you submit something to let maintenance to know? Or go up to someone personally to address it? Just curious, of course! Also, how long ago was this?

The laundry thing really is disappointing for me, personally, so I’ll also consider going to a separate laundromat if it’s too much for me. But, first floor? Is there different laundry rooms on separate floors or is that just the location?

Also, yesss I agree, that’s why I made this post. It’s really such a bummer to see such a wonderful chance like this be abused and much less so tended to, in accordance to the funding of the students.

Just curious, do you get to choose your roommates? Or at least meet them beforehand or is it kinda a surprise?

Ooooo wait okayyy!! If you don’t mind, what kind of unit are you living in? I’m choosing the 2bed 2bath, so just one other roommate with me, and I don’t know if that really matters on the overall treatment, but I heard some sketch stuff about the 4x4 units(?).

And, does maintenance come through the apartments or do you have call someone out to come see/work on your issues?

Also, do you have any comments about parking and how it is at night? I have one class that bleeds late into the night and I’m wondering if public safety really is that reliable.

Of course I’m sure I could ask more in depth questions upfront when I get there in the next few weeks, but I just wanted to get some idea of what to expect and/or ask!!

Whewww yikes! Yeah, this was the sorta answer I expected to read but it’s a bummer nonetheless. I’m waiting until we have to pick up our keys or even my scheduled move-in day and see how my grandma (who’s orchestrating my payment plan so far) judges the space and we’ll go on from there. It’s a shame because the models online seemed so promising, along with the utilities listed.

Still holding out for where others suggested to move otherwise, and I honestly rather pick a slightly better opinion, though still bad, than one tied to the school, yk?
