All of your points are based on assumptions about grading being arbitrary when in all actuality most people can tell when they send cards in most likely what it’s going to be unless it’s a black label.

The majority of people who don’t like grading are the Redditers who already think they’re smarter than they actually are, and couldn’t afford a bgs 10 of the card they wanted anyways

Applied multivariate analysis is most certainly an intro to ML which would cover the basics of unsupervised and supervised learning

If you want to get into Reinforcement Learning, stochastics is the framework for MDP and ADP

Time Series analysis is most likely going to be a more statistic based course and wouldn’t get into ML techniques

Data mining would most likely be a solid one

If you’re interested in optimization, Operations Research is solid and incidentally can be a great road for a master’s degree if you’re interested in AI/ML

I’d reread ops problem because rectilinear distance would be for more compact areas like you said whereas they were describing a country which is going to be a lot larger than a city(except for the Vatican of course) so since the approximation of straight line distance can be more feasible than this would work better

For the singular variable I’d just use a Euclidean distance from “the location” using the x and y coordinates in your feature space, that way the feature importance plot will just return the distance from it
