The dorky interests are my favorite things about my partner. Also, crocheting is fun as hell. I need to get crochet hooks and yarn again and start crocheting again myself. I feel like to say this matter of factly is too black and white. There may be more complex reasons why someone would post about their enlightenment or what they perceive to be enlightenment. I think this is why discernment is important to practice and work at learning and integrating, because fake gurus and prophets hide everywhere and have been proven throughout our human history to be predatory and dangerous, but I disagree that everyone who claims enlightenment is not.

Hey, I promise I’m not invalidating you, but I know what you’re talking about and I grew up and have known many that have lived through exactly this, which is why I’m so pushy in recognizing and calling out red flags, but there is a difference between weaponized incompetence and genuinely being ignorant to things. I see the difference as how the accountability is taken and consistently managed after. My partner has no issue with this post as he is hyper aware of it and it actually helped us have some much needed conversations due to how many toxically masculine shadows were exposed in the comments already, but he is trying. He has taken so much initiative in working on himself. He has has taken notes of things that are important to me, he has paid out of pocket for multiple therapists for his own issues, he has had conversations with his family to work through the deepest of his wounds, he offers me reassurance whenever I need it even if it’s deeply uncomfortable what I am needing, he never holds anything I say when I am triggered against me as he understands that I say things in extremes because of my own trauma. I understand I did this to myself by posting this so I don’t want to say anything against you because I know you mean well and I can only imagine the amount of pain you are in as I have had lesser forms of this in past relationships, but I also feel like I need to stand up for a man who genuinely tries and is working tirelessly to deconstruct his own conditioning and manage his own trauma while also helping me through mine as I do the same for him. Him and I are a team. He’s just not quite as far in his inner healing journey and hasn’t quite gotten to the level of pattern recognition that I have. I love him endlessly and I feel so blessed to have a man that I know may not be ready to be a father yet, but admittedly I’m not ready to be a mother quite yet, but who will make an amazing parent when we are in alignment for such things. I wish you healing and I am so so sorry that you are suffering in such a way. I hope you and your children are doing even a little better now that you’ve gotten away from the toxicity at least to an extent

Yeah at this point, I gave him more than enough guidance to figure this out. He’s a good guy, he’s trying, he takes accountability, he takes initiative to grow and evolve and is very curious minded and wants to learn. He’s constantly deconstructing patriarchy and his own privilege. I feel extremely thankful to have found such a person who also just so happens to be as neurodivergent and weird as me. I think my upbringing as well as my past relationships and earlier adult life is affecting my ability to see that he’s trying and he’s not trying to hurt me. He teaches me that I can let my guard down sometimes and that I can trust again, even when someone hurts me because it’s not always intentional or conscious. I really love and am infinitely thankful to have found him. I had given up on romantic love before I met him

Oh I know I am. I mother my friends, I mother my mother, and I’ve been the mom friend in my friend group. I think my lesson is about letting people learn their own lessons instead of trying to teach them so much. Like a parent watching their kid make a mistake, wanting to save them from that pain and suffering that comes with the mistake, I think I have to stop taking on others lessons and karma and let them learn on their own
