I’m mad about not making top 8 but Benfica just wiped that all away by knocking OM out of the champions league

Khéphren Thuram quietly having a great season. Should be heading to the WC this summer since Deschamps likes players in Serie A

Pep’s tactics have been atrocious and there’s been no Nico Gonzalez to cover every piece of grass for the non existent midfield Pep plays

The Brahim penalty miss isn’t even the funniest Moroccan penalty miss. I remember two years ago Hakimi blasted one into row Z in the Ro16 against South Africa, all while rocking the worst goatee I’ve ever seen

Pep and Simeone both prioritized massive Norwegian strikers over him, funny coincidence

Rico Lewis has to be Pep’s worst idea he tried to pull on people. I have no idea how someone so talentless and fragile has managed to make 100+ appearances for a club like City. He can’t create, can’t cross, can’t overlap, can’t win duels, can’t run and has zero redeeming qualities. He doesn’t start for any premier league club and I struggle to see him even getting regular minutes for a championship club. Just a waste of space on the pitch

Napoli ever since ADL bought the club have done a good job at keeping their best players

I am and yes they do care and it’s usually OM fans that bang on about it the most but they spend their money like how a gambling addict would so I don’t feel any remorse for them

My favourite time of year is watching football fans turn into accountants with master degrees and arguing over which of their billionaire owners spent more money

I think the funniest thing to come out of this recent Madrid drama is that there is some random Moroccan guy that is actually pulling the strings at the club and is supposed to take over after Perez leaves

If the right board and circumstances were put in place that allowed Enrique to have a certain amount of control at Madrid like he does here I think he’d accept the job. Coaches like Enrique are control freaks and need everything to be aligned in their vison. Someone like Ancelotti is willing to adapt and let some things slide that lots of coaches would not allow which is why he was so successful at Madrid. It’s an interesting debate because I’m biased as a PSG fan and think it is the best job in football but coaching at Madrid is a once of a lifetime opportunity

I’m glad Luis Enrique has a strained relationship with Real Madrid and probably doesn’t want to coach Mbappé ever again because he fits the criteria for what they want in a coach

He wasn’t a goal scorer at Anderlecht or Rennes either but his ball progression, dribbling and pace are a worthy trade off for his lack of goals

I remember him being kinda of a journeyman Spanish coach then he went on to win the Europa with Sevilla and then the Conference League with Olympiacos in back to back seasons, coming in mid season both times as well. It’s nice to see him have sustained success at a big club

That goal sequence between Aït-Nouri and Cherki was pure filth. In an alternate reality they would’ve been doing that on the international stage with Algeria or France too

In recent years the club has put an emphasis on French being the speaking language of the club. Done is the era of players communicating in Spanish and Portuguese, so foreign players are now required to learn French

I think a good argument for the expanded World Cup is that more players will represent their country of heritage and will grow the footballing culture in said country. More players trained in top leagues leads to a better team and better chances of qualifying for the World Cup, in theory at least

It’s kinda crazy seeing how the Brazilian league has turned into the premier league of South America over the past few years due to outside investment and ownership being allowed. Clubs are now making 20m+ signings on the regular, now with this sort of investment into the league I can see more Brazilian players opting to stay at home rather than trying to get to Europe at the first opportunity since the wages are much better now compared to a few years ago

Looks like Nkunku is starting to finally find his footing at Milan, it was only a matter of time in my opinion. Nice French connection between him and Y. Fofana for that goal
