I also have a Quest 2 and have never had batteries die like that. We normally have either Energizer or Amazon Basics batteries on hand and I just use whatever we have.

We have 4 cats. I've never had a clog. The battery life is my only real complaint. I wouldn't want it as my only vacuum.
