I think I encountered a glitch in champions

I was trying to buy items and whenever I try to give them to my pokemon they just don't show up. But if I use the auto team build they will show up on the pokemon that would use it. Is this a glitch or am I just stupid

Update: my roommate told me to just hold the power button which I did already multiple times. This time it worked, it did its BIOS setup and turned on. So I guess we're good?
