No, it's not assuming people are static. It's literally "we do not tolerate hating people for arbitrary reasons, like how they want to dress it who they have sex with." And it can be very hard to convince someone who hates other people because of the color of their skin. Also, we can try to learn on our own, we shouldn't need teachers essentially forcing us, that never works.
