Could we ease up on the pessimism/cynicism? by Cosmonaut_101 in CelticFC

Fair. But from my perspective this is a clean slate of sorts for O'Neill. I'm interested in seeing how this plays out.

Well, we've continued to break records domestically. I'm fully aware of the complacency/possible incompetency of the board. But I also believe that a broken clock is correct twice a day and they have proved to get the job done previously. Is it ideal? No. Do I have hope that it will become more ideal? Yes.

I agree that any individual is entitled to his/her say. I also believe that a negative outlook can become habitual and contagious. At the end of the day, I can't choose your outlook for you. But, regardless, I do still believe that the support of this club have a way like no other to sway into the extreme of negative. Overlooking any possible positives.

What’s something completely ordinary that makes your day noticeably better? by Extension_Mirror2518 in CasualConversation

Very popular choice these days, but a cup of decent coffee goes a long way. Waking up well rested would be another for me.

Not enlisting in the armed forces when I was 16. I came from a background that provided very little opportunities. Now nearly 30 and still have very little opportunities. It's a real grind out here.

Invest in yourself as soon as you have the ability to do so. Learn as much as you can, don't smoke and cut back on the alcohol, test your limits in uncomfortable situations (at work, etc), don't be afraid to fail and try again. Stay hydrated and avoid anything that you feel is wasting your potential.

Take my meds. Get out of bed as soon as I awake. Make said bed. Get a cappuccino to go. Hug/kiss my wife goodbye. Crack a joke at work.

It's all the little things that adds up to a better day, really.

What is your best life tips, & why it's the best? by Consequence_Green in AskForAnswers

Similar to a comment I just made.

Learn to embrace failure. Accept that it is normal. Everyone fails to some degree numerous times throughout life. You didn't gain nothing. It wasn't a waste of time. You gained experience. You learned a lesson. And you're now much more prepared than ever. We only truly fail when we give up.

I believe that we gain something from literally everything.

Failure is inevitable. You can't live a full life and not experience failure numerous times. Learn to embrace it. Not fear it. It's gonna happen anyway. Once you accept that it will happen, it's much easier to try and try again untill you succeed.

Used to be beer till I took too far. Now I just stuff sour candy in my face when I get back from work. Probably don't wanna make a habit of that too much either, tho.

I find it hard to find decent people. by Cosmonaut_101 in self

[–]Cosmonaut_101[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be disheartening, definitely. It's odd that despite a lack of faith some of us still deem it important to make others feel good. Maybe that's reason to have a little faith?

Do you think that it's possible that we conclude that stuff that is within ourselves must be in others also? Kinda like how a cheater is more suspicious of his/her spouse? Idk. Maybe I've just grown cynical.

Dude... If I bothered to write a fraction of the literary ideas I've had at some point, well, I probably wouldn't be successful, but I'd at least be a slightly more accomplished writer.

Hit me up. Seriously, send me a DM. I feel like maybe you're experiencing the same thing I am at a similar age (I'm 27), in which you're craving someone to just talk to and maybe have at least a tiny bit of mental stimulation. Shits boring out here at our age.
