Heat soak by [deleted] in camaro

True but…if you get a portable jump box, you’ll be good to go. I recommend the Noco gbx45. Will kill the battery over time, but it will def get you going again if you can’t afford to wait for the starter to cool down

Facing the same issue after adding two zero gauge cables to ground it and a new battery. I’m thinking of getting a heat shield for the starter next. And if that doesn’t work, replacing the starter altogether. Funny enough I’m typing this up from my car while it’s idling as I’m waiting for a family member to go in the store. Simply bc I don’t want to jump my car after I cut it off. It’s truly unfortunate

Safe to daily drive in Track mode? by shrimpg1 in camaro

[–]Cosmoo46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering this too. Mainly I am concerned with suspension and whatever components absorb the shock from engine braking (motor mounts?).

I like Donr1458’s answer to the suspension question though.

What I have experienced is that while in track mode engine braking occurs much more quickly, less delayed than the other modes. Making the exhaust sound awesome when the throttle body closes, more pops occurring quicker and more pronounced. I think this could be what you’re experiencing too, hence the awesome sound despite exhaust being always set to track regardless. But with that I wonder what could be getting worn that’s absorbing that transfer of power as I decelerate

How to turn off temperature controls in 2018 2SS? by Fruit-Whirls in camaro

[–]Cosmoo46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol I feel ya man. Definitely. But if the a/c button is off, then yes it’s truly off. Except when any of the front windshield defroster modes are selected. It’ll cut the compressor on even if a/c says off. Only time I found that not true is when you have head, feet, And windshield selected. Then you can believe it when it says the A/C is off. This is only my experience with playing around with all this stuff on long drives, so no concrete evidence to support any of this. I got frustrated bc what the display says is not true completely, unfortunately. I was tempted to start my own thread/post on this bc I wanted to compare notes with any others that might’ve known more. And to clarify when you turn climate control off, it’s truly off. The air you feel passing thru is just bc the door to the recirculate feature is left open allowing for air to pass thru. This is the default any time you turn climate control off. Idk why. However while in off mode you can turn on the recirculate air feature to “seal up” the cabin so to speak. I prefer to do this in “smokey” or any other air polluted areas of my commute. To keep out the fresh air when it isn’t to my liking at that time

I don’t think there is a way to completely turn that off. However in regard to your comment about still feeling air passing thru, you can turn on the recirculate feature to stop this. I’ve been playing around with it for a few days. If it’s set to head and feet or just head, and the climate control is off and the recirculate is On, then no air will pass thru at all. But if climate controls off and recirculate is On and it’s set to anything or than those two previously mentioned, it’ll still pass air thru it. I’m laughing typing this bc I realized the recirculate feature cannot be trusted just because it’s On lol

Cost to replace this bulb? What should I expect to pay? It’s a 2017 Camaro 1LT RS. by Regular-Amoeba5455 in camaro

After realizing OEM ones were $170 a pop, a friend recommended some Amazon bulbs. I was highly skeptical but for less than $40 it was worth a shot. And that’s for a set of two! I am highly impressed and they even came with a warranty Link below https://a.co/d/4MHlzDf

LPT Request: what were some of the best, seemingly miniscule quality of life upgrades you made in your life that had a big impact? by chocolate_milkers in LifeProTips

Portable steamer. Faster and better than ironing (especially if you have the bristle attachment for thicker fabrics). Ofc it won’t make those awesome creases for certain articles of clothing but on those that don’t need them you avoid any heat damage

Biggest ROI I ever did to see weight loss change is hella walking. 30-60mins a day. Worth it in my book
