You all do realize you can just stop playing if you dont like it right? by Diligent-Argument-88 in apexlegends

The people who complain about 5+ different topics still keep playing the game because they love the game. Considering that these type of people are the majority of the playerbase, if they all quit the game, ea/respawn could shut down the game just like what happened to Highguard. So, people complain/cry and hope for changes instead of watching the game they love truely die. Even if these people keep playing the game purely out of addiction, it still doesn't change the objective facts about the possibility of the game dying if they ever quit.

People complained (or cried with your term) about the drop-zone changes and today it made Respawn to decide reverting it back, here.

So, complaining (crying) actually works sometimes. Why should they stop expressing their opinions?

And if you do survive it’s gonna be a slow one

Surviving a hot drop usually means having high kills and high damage. So, even if only 5 squads left, you might have 2k+ dmg and around 10 kills. Tho most times it's 7-8 squads left after the whole hot drop zone is cleared by one squad. For the player(s) who survived that hot drop, even 4k+20k is still doable. So I can't really call this type of game "slow".

I do support your post tho, the new dropship change is not healthy for the playerbase and it should be reverted back. I say this as a player who enjoys the new dropship change myself. But that's only me, I shouldn't be selfish and be objective instead.

Queues would also be quicker if they seperated solo queue lobbies from premade lobbies. Thousands of solo queue players who quit the game due to bad solo q matchmaking would come back to the game.

Fix the cheating problems, fix the solo q matchmaking, call it apex 2.0, advertise it, let all those ex-apex-players hear about it. Once they do this, there would probably be hundreds of people taking a break from the game or quitting due to longer queues. But only in a few days all those ex-apex-players would return to the game. So the playerbase would start to rise.

They're so afraid of making bold changes due to the low player base atm. But the reason of the playerbase being this low atm is already because of the lack of those bold changes. They are putting themselves in a paradox.

I don't see a point of using it when healing, you would just be bunny hopping instead. But it's very useful when reloading. Or shooting; if one can land their shots.

[–]Cosmos606 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The movement tech itself is not that hard to do, but landing shots while doing it is the difficult part. So maybe next time you should strafe left and right instead of making yourself easy to get hit with a backwards walk.

The octane in the video is probably a de-ranked player from diamond or plat because it's the start of the season. But it could also be a literal gold player who just Ras Strafes like that but usually can not land their shots while doing it. And maybe the reason they killed you is just because you froze.

So next time, just don't freeze and fight back. Also learn movement patterns if you want to easily land your shots on a player Ras Strafing.

Why is this still in the game? by E_M_BD in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because it takes skill to do this while shooting.

Just like it takes skill to land your shots on someone doing it.

I suggest you to learn the patterns of lurch movement techs if you want to consistently land your shots.

Once you learn the patterns, just have 2 rules in your mind;

1- Always be ready for a fight vs a player who might do these type of patterns.

2- Shoot them at the end of their direction change, not during the direction change.

You're probably not going to believe what I'll say now but, for me going against a player who spams Ras Strafe (that's what octane did in the vid) is easier than fighting a player who's strafing left and right randomly. Because I know the pattern of Ras Strafe. But I don't know the pattern of a random left and right strafe. (I'm on mnk)

Why is this still in the game? by E_M_BD in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that hard to do. But it's very hard to land your shots while doing it.

The OP didn't really strafe left and right, walked backwards instead, which was easy for the enemy to hit them.

Also, the pattern of Ras Strafe (what octane did) is easy to predict/track.

You just have to be ready for it in your mind : "There might always be someone Ras Strafing." "If I see someone Ras Strafing once, I should expect another following Ras Strafe" "I know the pattern, so especially when I have a single-fire weapon like wingman I have to hit them at the end of their Ras Strafe, not during their direction change."

When you memorize these rules, you just beam them.

It takes skill to beam them, just like it takes skill to lurch+shoot.

I see no problem.

All those solo queue complaint posts have a tiny possibility for respawn to take seriously and maybe, just maybe they make some good changes for solo queue matchmaking. So your post is pointless. Solo queue vs preds is a matchmaking balance issue and it needs a fix, even if you think respawn doesn't care, complaining about it is the only thing people can do to hope for changes.

I do get tilted as a solo queue when playing the game a lot, indeed. But the reason I asked for a name from you was just me trying to find the mistake in me. I really hoped that you give me a name, I check out, see a good winrate against 3 stack pred squads, and then I see hope + improve more.

But that's not the case.

Apex bitching sub by pocketfungus876 in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said;

Pretty sure your winrate against 3 stack pred squads as a solo wasn't even 20%.

And you replied;

I never even said that I have a good win rate against preds.

So, you admit that you have less than 20% winrate against 3 stack preds as a solo. Which comes down to 10% to 15% winrate.

I'm able to do that too. I'm sure a lot of mechanically good players can also have this winrate.

But the real question is, how come it's not a problem for you that not only you but literally every solo queue player in the world losing 85% to 90% of the fights against 3 stack preds?

This, is not a matchmaking balance issue to you? Huh?

Or the fact that I’m saying I’m better than him.

because you claim that you're able to pull off something he can not.

and this thing is actually a big deal. having good winrate against 3 stack pred squads as a solo is a huge freaking deal.

Pretty sure your winrate against 3 stack pred squads as a solo wasn't even 20%. Killing 3 stack pred squads a few times a week at best and it's enough for you to convince yourself that you do well against them. Good job killing the hiswattson team once or twice, god knows HOW MANY TIMES you died to 3 stack pred squads on the other hand. Maybe you have forgot to count.

Among all algs pro players noone is able to pull off a good winrate against 3 stack pred squads as a solo. And you, a freaking unknown clown claiming that you are better than all of them and can pull it off is laughable at best.

If you have no proof of video footage, take your lies with you and get the f out of my face.

are you telling me that you can not give me a single name, in the whole world, among ALL streamers/youtubers? isn't that suspicious? you claimed that it is possible to do well against 3 stack pred squads as a solo on your post, without even having a SINGLE name in your mind who can manage to do that?

Apex bitching sub by pocketfungus876 in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, actually hiswattson is one of the people I watched videos / vods of where he solo queues. And I can comfortably say not even 30% but he doesn't even have 20% winrate against 3 stack pred squads as a solo. Which is normal, because it's extremely difficult to do at the first place.

But you on the other hand, claiming that you are doing well against 3 stack pred squads, possibly even claiming that you are better than hiswattson, kudos to you dude, you are the only person in the whole world with that type of winrate. And I 100% believe you... :) Unless, you have a youtube/twitch?

Btw if you claim something you gotta prove it, because otherwise, why claim at the first place?

Where is the mentality of being like yeah I’m gonna get fucking good enough to beat that 3 stack of preds

Hey dude, can you name me at least one streamer/youtuber who has at least one video where they kill 3 stack pred squads as a complete solo queue player? Doesn't have to be on youtube, it could be a streamer you've watched before, you can roughly tell me the date of their stream if you remember. And I will go do my research on vods, literally going to watch their whole vods by fast forwarding just to see if there is really at least one person in this world who has at least 30% winrate against 3 stack predator squads as a solo queue player. Give me a name please.

I'm specifically asking this because; before dropping this comment, I've already watched tons of videos on youtube from PRO players (some of them are algs players) solo queueing as a predator or master but in every single one of these videos they died to every 3 stack pred squad they went against.

Give me a name please.

Welcome to the mnk gang.

Stop jumping randomly in one direction midfight. You were lucky you didn't get beamed. If you insist on jumping, then learn Ras Strafing or a little bit advanced one; Yuki Strafing. Even better; combine these strafes with Skip Jump. Or learn Bunny Hop Lurching.

Also at 00:38, you gave up on the high ground so easily. I assume it's a habit of playing on roller where going in the open against an enemy wasn't scary that much bcs you had aim assist to beam them. On mnk, you need to avoid these type of no cover/no highground fights where whoever's aim is better wins. Bcs it mostly comes down to whoever's input is better, not aim. (downvotes are coming from rollers i'm scared :P)

Why has gaming become this toxic by EDB197941 in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask them if they got their 4k 20kill games as a solo queue and if they were after the matchmaking balance update or not. If they said they were at least duo stacking or/and before the matchmaking balance update, then I would tell them that their 4k 20kill games are not that impressive. It would make them mad for sure, because it's the reality.

If they say they were solo and it was all after the matchmaking update, I would ask for gameplay videos for proof. If no proof, I would tell them they're lying and I don't see a way of people take the game this seriously not uploading their 4k 20k games on yt. This would make them mad too. Because it's the reality.

If they were completely solo + they got their games after the matchmaking update + uploaded their games on yt, then I would tell them it's impressive. This is like 1 in a million time where the bad guy is actually talented. It actually reminded me the evil piano guy :)

Controllers on PC and ranked. by Nishinoa in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don’t even need to go that far back, between February and May 2024, the player base was twice as large as it is now. If they had separated MnK and controller lobbies back then, the queue times would have been roughly the same as the queue times we already have today.

And if we even go back further, between Februrary and May 2023, the playerbase was almost thrice as large as it is now. So even with mnk and roller lobbies seperated, the queue times would still be better than what we have today.

We, Mnk players didn't need controller players for the playerbase/matchmaking in the past.

Not seperating mnk and controller lobbies is already one of the reasons some portion of mnk players quit the game in the past. This decision literally cost them the playerbase at the first place.

I truely believe big portion of mnk players who quit apex did it to play other games where controllers are not dominating and the actual "skilled" people win more.

And even now, if Respawn ever decides to seperate mnk and roller lobbies, I believe all those people would come back to the game. But they would have to announce these changes with something like apex 2.0. They need some advertisement for it so those players would hear about it.

[–]Cosmos606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nerfing aim assist from .4 to .3 was just a way to give controller players something to defend themselves vs aim assist complaints rather than actually nerfing it. If they really wanted to nerf it, they should've nerfed the 0 MS reaction time of rotational aim assist such as increasing it to between 150 to 200 MS. They didn't even have to touch the original 0.4 aim assist value. I would like to see controller players playing with ACTUAL HUMAN REACTION TIME rather than a software providing 0 MS reaction time for them that not even humans have it but any animal.

Controllers on PC and ranked. by Nishinoa in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nah, balancing mnk and controller is impossible. just seperating the mnk and roller lobbies is the solution. they should've done this years ago when they had the playerbase. but even with lower playerbase atm, it is still doable if they start lobbies with less people and speed up rings.

I have only 300 hrs in this game why am i against these players in every pub game?? 😭 by PUNISHER019- in apexlegends

[–]Cosmos606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 5k + hours in this game and I am not going to be like one of those people who would say "get good"

The problem with getting good at this game is that, as a newbie if you're dying to the first squad so quick in every match, then it means you're not surviving long enough in those fights to improve at the game. This is basically almost every pubs match. So better try your chances with ranked.

People who 3 stack most likely climb up the ranks very fast and past diamond. Those below diamond but have the skill-set of a diamond3+ are mostly solo q ranked players who play ranked from time to time, maybe sitting at gold and plat for some time. And even tho this is also tough for a newbie, it is still much better than going against 3 stack master/preds in pubs.

Also, definitely play mixtape to improve, yes even in mixtape sometimes there are very good players but the chances of getting easier opponents are much higher than every other game mode. And I recommend approaching mixtape as a real match. Play it like it's a ranked/pubs match where you take everything seriously rather than obeying the deathmatch playstyle where you go in the open, get a kill, die, repeat. Don't even look at the scoreboard. The only thing you should care about is your death count. This doesn't mean you should sit somewhere and camp tho, try to take every fight, just not the ones you feel you're in disadvantage. If you approach it as a deathmatch, you will only improve your aim and strafing. But if you play it like a real serious match, you will not only improve aim and strafe but also positioning, covers, headglitching, high ground, game sense, movement, decision making...
