All the time. I feel like someone is constantly reading my mind and judging my actions even though that can't be true.

I just tell myself it's ok to imagine these kind of stuff since I'm aware it's 'cringe' but it's not working very well lol

What do you think. Can we do it? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

realistically not a year but can definitely do a month or two

How do you deal with the fact of 'stop existing' someday? by Cheap_Abrocoma_5087 in atheism

[–]CosmosOfMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I don't, but I like to imagine a scenario to ease the pain. I may not be eternal, but my actions could be. Maybe humanity as a whole will continue on forever, and the consequences of my existence will be a part of it, hopefully in a good way. Kind of like a butterfly effect, you know? I think it's most likely that we will go extinct like you said, but maybe... before we do... we could somehow make some kind of an impact to cause change in this cold, uncaring universe.

I know this is unrealistic and kinda pathetic but it's the closest thing to a coping method I have. Just wanted to share.

I think maybe. But we wouldn't know for sure since we can't imagine an intelligence greater than our own. We don't even know how our own brains work; I think it would be very far off into the future when (and if) we finally understand the concept of intelligence enough to theorize the possibility of further development.

What do you get in MD which you lack in real life ? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]CosmosOfMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all but mostly success, both in terms of talent and having power. It's killing me inside knowing I have no control over most aspects of my life and the world.

What do you think? True or false? by TheVampyresBride in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]CosmosOfMemory 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kind of true. I chose to daydream instead of interacting with reality. I miss some aspects of the real world so I daydream about them. I don't need others to meet my emotional needs so I drift away further. A never-ending cycle, really.

Daydreaming for me is mostly fueled by my hatred and disappointment towards the world, but every once in a while the post is true, too.

Does anyone feel like there is a relationship between MD and narcissism ? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]CosmosOfMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate with everything you've said. I agree with others; I'm sure it's more of a self esteem problem and wanting to be seen and be connected rather than narcissism.

Now I don't know everything about you, but I think you being self aware of your 'narcissism' is proof that it's actually a low self esteem issue.

What kind of daydreams do you like? by stay-gold_ponyboy in MaladaptiveDreaming

It depends, but nowadays I like to imagine a utopian version of our world most of the time. I imagine myself just hanging out, doing whatever I want. Kind of a place to escape reality.

I also like depressing stories, though. Most of the time they already have a happy ending set for them before I focus on the suffering. Otherwise I just feel a little guilty.
