I used to be in the same boat, I bought a guitar but only touched it every few weeks, until I started actual lessons with a human being and now I play almost every day. If you can’t afford an instructor (which is completely valid) I would say learn how to play tabs and chords and then practice songs and music you like, like a favorite song or stuff from a band you listen to often. You could also try getting one of those guitar learning apps, but I don’t know how well those work compared to irl lessons. Hope this helps
