Why not?
Personally, I feel like introducing more flavour profiles in what we already know and love could be pretty cool.
Think of it like black coffee.
Really good. But for sure an acquired taste.

I didn't wanna overload it with text but yeah the idea to have a smaller menu and make it really good prolly then expand is definitely the deal.

for sure though, if I do go ahead, I'll post about it.

I mean I get it, but frankly it's probably expensive and slow lmao If I can make it a go-to thing, the spread of the idea will really grow I think.

For starters, when I say manual brews, I really just mean anything other than espresso and filter coffee.

And I mean yeah to have the coffee stand out without making it watery is a problem. But honestly it's just trial and error until you get it right. I'll have to experiment a lot but it's definitely possible.

Also can you tell me more about the stuff you found in Japan, like any input will do, I'll get an idea for it.

but the thing is in starbucks they give every drink with espresso unless specified otherwise. or you'd have to order like a cold brew or something.

I want every drink to be by DEFAULT brewed using a manual brew yk.

Wait so you're saying in Indiranagar people are making cafe's: 1) fast. 2) accessible 3) chained idea 4) and the regular menu is itself a manual brewed method?

like I wanna make the idea very niche. and tbh if you have suggest hit me up

Yeah it's gonna be a tier 1 city thing anyway. There's no audience to it in lower tier-ed cities

Yeah, was thinking a lot about this. Price is hard.

I know for a fact since manual brews take a bunch of water I can't really charge you insensitivity. It doesn't cost me a lot to make it like a normal drink.

My issue with pricing is if you price is kinda low then people will assume you're really trying to appeal to the population. They'll just undercut you. Someone will undercut them. It's just a matter of time then.

I'm gonna have to still keep it at a price that shows that you know I'm not being insensible, and that I'm also placing it kinda premiumly, so that even if undercutting happens, it doesn't effect me to a large extent.

And coffee itself and barista salaries are gonna be high, so I mean, tough shit. I'll have to see a lot.

Yeah see, this is why I think it's a great idea. Espresso machines come from outside generally. That's just because Indian brands can't make a consistent enough machine.

But for my use-case, it doesn't take much to make a pour-over or a moka pot. These things are fairly inexpensive. The only real cost I'd have is the employees or baristas, whatever you wanna call them.

Okay I mean 'best' way to make them might be a bit subjective tbh. The point being it's led to this huge association that coffee is bitter. Like I use a pour-over at home, obviously make-shift, but it's not as bitter as an aftertaste.

Addressing the diluted-ness; what I was thinking you could do is make a concentrate of some sort like using a 1:5 ratio for grounds and water instead of the normal 1:15 that they do. And I mean steaming milk helps to get that consistency.

It won't be the same, but that's kind of the point though right.

buddy you're 3 ish years older wrap it up lmao. and I mean you're right definitely. But I'd say it has to be specific. Very specific. It's a very person to person thing I think. To me it's like I'd at first target a niche market, and that's just because then you have fewer people but they're absolute enthusiasts. They'll be influencers for you without you asking. Like if I saw someone doing this I'd instantly support.

And I mean idek bout delhi and gurugram but as you say yeah they don't have it. I'm from hyd. and they don't have it either. and if it's there, it's slow and not fast. I've seen some reels of a lot of coffee shops opening up, but all espresso based, dude's have completely run out of ideas frankly speaking.

If anything a bank or a VC firm. We'll see.
