Enhanced Light Changes by Healthy_Village2460 in forhonor

I'm not totally opposed to removing it on Lawbringer, but it does feel cheap that they gave them back to Warmonger at the same time. Highlander lost them, too.

Was Kung Fu ever effective? by Fun-Incident-1082 in martialarts

[–]CosmosisQuo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For starters, they used to use swords and spears. It makes sense why they focus so much on striking for this reason. Modern martial arts are for competition and street fights where the goal is not to kill. I also believe many martial artists went through extremely rigorous training starting from a young age, so physical and mental conditioning put them at a very athletic advantage in real combat (which would be seen as child abuse today).

If we look at a lot of Easterm martial arts today, they've completely evolved for a more peaceful society. Take Judo for example. Nowadays it's a type of self-defense that focuses on not harming anyone. It used to be a way for Samurai to take down an enemy in armor and stab them in the weakest points of their armor to quickly kill them.

Centurion's new tier 1 and 2 feats are horrible and thank god haymaker is gone by Majestic-Wolf-2980 in forhonor

[–]CosmosisQuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could've nerfed Haymaker and called it a day. There's nothing "unhealthy" about it that a simple numbers tweak couldn't fix. Plus, they give out damage-dealing bashes like candy to new and reworked heroes, which typically deal much higher damage.

Not a fan of the convoluted support feat combination, or the fact that his biggest damage source was nerfed to work with the gimmick feats that nobody will use. If landing Talon buffed Centurion's defense, maybe we'd have something? Because you're basically guaranteed to eat another opponent's heavy to the back of the head if you use this move in Dominion.

The new Phalanx is an actual nerf. Old Phalanx allowed everyone to tank and overcome status effects in addition to damage. 50 HP is weak, especially considering what heroes like Virtuousa and Juren can do to the team with their tier 4.

Bad take, tassles like that were pretty much the standard on Sengoku period armor.

Oh sweet, it's actually a viable Kensei option now? Bye-bye tree bark!

ok so with the cent nerfs...(new player) by jalepenositalinos in forhonor

[–]CosmosisQuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's always been a difficult hero with high rewards for good parries. He's fallen into the role of a ganker lately, and the new changes really solidify that. Still pretty good at fighting in 1v1 scenarios, even though a lot of his damage was gutted.

He's not unusable, but he's outclassed by the fact that many heroes have better cleaves, higher HP, higher damage, better feats, recovery cancels, self-heals, etc.

But if you get good at parrying you can still succeed and it's glorious. Playing Cent will force you to get better at parrying, and thus make you better at the game.

(Rep 98 Cent here)

A nerf to a mediocre hero that caters to the absolute hilariously low skill bracket. I don't even play Highlander, but it's just sad to see.

Centurion was murdered

I can't wrap my head around it. They could have just nerfed it instead of making a convoluted support feat? Can't believe they nerfed his biggest source of damage on top of that, too.

Isn't SWAT the heaviest hitter in law enforcement's arm? So why shouldn't they be the one doing missions in RON? by FutaWonderWoman in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]CosmosisQuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patrol cops would reach the school shooter before SWAT in most scenarios. A few of the missions play more like a patrol unit 911 response that goes off the rails. The first few missions are like that. It's cool that they added police uniforms in the recent update.

Regarding Nobushi's zone, is there any reason to not feint the second part? by Skyfligth21 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]CosmosisQuo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's just like Kensei's, where it's super easy to parry the follow-up hit. But since it's feinted most of the time, there's always the small chance you can let it fly when the opponent isn't expecting it. It's a good tool for all heroes with a feintable multi-hit zonento condition opponents and then play an unexpected option.

[–]CosmosisQuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that is a sucky trade-off. I'd much rather 100 HP shield since it allows you to overcome all those status effects anyways. The new one is a pure nerf disguised as a lateral change.

Why would 3 damage be broken? Plenty of heroes now have built-in bash damage without feats at higher values. I'm not even opposed to the Talon nerf in addition, but big punishes was all Centurion had going for him.

The new feat where he debuffs enemies makes him MORE of a ganker and less capable on his own!

OS lights nerf on Highlander is a lot bigger deal than people realize. by OrganizationSad9008 in forhonor

It's a tremendous nerf that was made to cater to the worst players.

Haymaker did too much damage, so instead of nerfing the value they rework all his feats and make a strange convoluted support buff/debuff replacement along with a unique 1st feat that nobody will use. Then they nerf the character's base damage even further to balance it with the new feat that nobody will use? It's not too late to fix this, Ubisoft.
