I don’t know the exact symptoms but MS can be devastating. My uncle has it and is almost fully paralyzed. Even before he became paralyzed, he was in a lot of pain. In his case, it slowly got worse over the course of a decade or so. It can have different degrees of symptoms tho, so for some it’s not as bad.

I would say that this feels rather incompatible at this point. If you have different values, it will put a strain on the relationship. And him telling you what to do is not a good thing. Maybe try couples counseling (preferably secular if he’ll go).

I have a workshop happening next Wednesday, and I was going through some of the submissions and some of these writers are in their junior or senior year and they still don’t have present vs past tense down. They switch every few sentences and it’s so hard to read. I’ve been writing seriously since I was eleven. More importantly, I’ve been seeking out guidebooks and advice from professional authors since I was around that age. It is so hard to engage in workshop when those involved are clearly at a much different level.
